  1. Hi Here is a link to my auctions on gunbroker. I decided to just see what happens and not have a reserve. Since the springfield scope has bids I am going to let it run till the end. Gunbroker I did not list the BSA scope Because it is not brand new.
  2. Hi I decided to try two of these scopes on gunbroker.com. The BSA scope is still availible through here.
  3. I have accumulated these scopes either from unbelievible deals on ebay and from friends. I have already looked to make sure that the prices I have are the lowest on the internet. I would like to sell them here. 1. Springfield 6x40 7.62 government scope. New in box. Rangefinding out to 700 meters) A lightweight and ultra compact 6 power scope which is ballistically tuned to 7.62 (.308) match ammo. When comparing the 6x40 to other high performance telescopes, you will find it to be not only more affordable, but also a high quality scope designed for a variety of applications. This versatile
  4. Hi My brother has one of those. It has a leupold 6-18 x2 scope mounted. It is a heavy rifle not much fun to carry for hunting but that is not what it is for. His is accurate with the correct ammo. Do not expect sub MOA with cheap surplus ammo but with match grade or reloads it definitely should shoot sub MOA. I can shoot as well as him with my savage 10fp but I wish I had the DM. He only has the original mag. I do not think he as ever looked for larger mags. The one problem he has had is with the scope mounts. Not a problem with the rifle but with a 2 piece scope mount base. I would strongl
  5. First let me say welcome. A saiga is built like an AK. The receiver is not like the vepr thicker receiver (actaully a RPK reciever). The vepr is made in a different russian plant than the saiga. I believe the vepr is from Molot and the saiga from Izshmash. You can see alot more attention to detail on the vepr but I do not think a vepr is really a MOA gun. From that I have seen (actual targets) it is more like between 1 to 2 MOA with the proper ammo. I think Robinsons is the only importer of veprs. They sell them more than I think they are worth. (IMO) I can see no way to make a saiga or any
  6. Thought I would add this to this topic. I am about to go where no saiga has gone before. I am in the process of buying material to turn my saiga barrel into a carbon fiber composite barrel. I have the cabon fiber sleeves coming and I am looking for some high temp epoxy resin. I plan to put on 3 layers of carbon fiber and then see how it shoots. I will go up to 6 or 8 layers if I am not satisfied. My goal is under 1" at 100 yards with "choice" ammo and under 2" with the plinker ammo. Material cost will be around $75 for the barrel but alot of time will be needed. My goal since I got the saiga

    New Scope

Very nice And a great 5 shot group! With a 16" barrel saiga, WOW! Did you have any modifications? trigger work?
  8. Hi Well you can get a second shot quicker with a saiga but at long range praire dogs, you will need it. With a stock saiga, some good ammo and a properly mounted scope, you can maybe shoot around 2-3" at 100 yards. It depends on how well you handle a heavy trigger. You may also have some trouble with hte eye relief on the scope with the current stock set-up of a saiga. The rifle stock is really too long for a standard side mount scope. Well I guess I have been talking you out of a saiga so far because of the fact you want a long range p.d. gun. A saiga can be really fun in the right situat

    Gas Tube

Hi Well mine is a 223 but maybe I can help. There should be a little lever on the right side by the rear sight. It can be hard to do but you turn that so that the end of the lever is no longer against the block. You will see that the lever moves a pin that is holding the rear of the tube down. Turn the lever until the flat side of the pin will allow the tube to be lifted out. on my 223 this will also make the forearm stock come off but I believe the 308 has a screw on the bottom of the receiver. Good luck
  10. I have been asked about the MOA and how it compaires to the group size. Why is 1 MOA the same as 1" at 100yds? Well first the MOA stands for "minute of angle". Most everyone knows about degrees in an angle. A right angle is 90 degrees, there are 360 degrees in a circle, etc. Well, just like hours, degrees can be broken down into minutes and seconds. There are 60 minutes in a degree and 60 seconds in a minute. This has almost been a forgotten method becuase you see degrees in decimal form so much. Anyway, one minute of angle is a very slight (or acute) angle. Using trigonomitry you can see th
  11. This should be what you can consistantly shoot with your best shooting ammo. Please tell what ammo this is with. Also if the saiga is stock or has had some work. My 223 likes hornady 75gr BTHP match ammo to be able to shoot around 2" (usually a little over 2"). Cheap ammo equals larger groups. Over 4" with wolf and similar prices rounds. My saiga has had the trigger converted with the adjustible trigger set at only 3 lbs. for the second stage during bench rest shooting.
  12. Hi I was drawn to your question because in my 223 saiga every round comes out "crimped" with a nice dent in the side. I reload 308 for my savage 10fp. It is worth it because of the groups I can get bench rest shooting. Plus I use premium bullets which are always found on the high priced 308 ammo. I have shot "cheap" and match grade ammo through my 223 for tests. There was not enough accuracy improvement to warrant the higher costing ammo. The thought of reloading for a saiga did not make sense for me. It is not an "accurate" rifle so I doubt the benefits of accurate reloading will be worth
  13. I guess if it were me, I would want a laser that could be mounted with or without the scope. But it is still cool.
  14. Reply from EAA for the Saiga 100 rifles EAA-no saiga 100 is still ours and first due in later this year >>> Jeff >>> >I am sorry to hear you will not be importing the vepr >rifles. >Does this effect the "saiga 100" models also? >Thanks >Jeff There is still hope for the Saiga 100s
  15. Again I am not sure if this effects the saiga 100s. The excuses I got in the past for the long delay for the Veprs was that the Russian plant where they are made was changing owners. Saigas are made in IZHMASH and Veprs are made in MOLOT. I have an email in to them about the Saiga 100s. My guess is that Robinson Arms may have had something to do with it. They have been the sole importer of Vepr rifles which they sell at a premium. EAA would have killed their monopoly.
