i installed that exact handguard on my saiga 223. no handguard retainers are needed. the heat sheet metal heat shield on the gas piston tube will need to be removed. there should be some sheet metal spacers and a wedge that goes between the barrel and piston tube, you may have them just dont see them in the picture. i have been happy with mine. there are 2 pictures of my rifle in the picture thead with it installed if you want to see how it looks installed. hope this helps

just finished the latest change to my saiga

here is my saiga 223. upgrades are tapco t6 stock, saw pistol grip, and g2 fire controll group, utg pro quad rail and quick disconnect scope mount, magnolia state armory ar magazine adapter, c-products 20 round magazines, nc star scope, and led wave weapon light

i got my adapter in on friday and had it installer that night with my dremmel, i got impatient and didnt wait to ues the mill at work the next day, but it looks good anyway. after reassembly i did notice it seems to hand cycle smoother than it did with the saiga promags. i couldnt be happier with it.
