  1. that phantom flash looks mean on the end of the barrel, are those the polymer galil mags?
  2. works out great. i had to do a wee bit of dremmel action on the heat shield so it would fit snug around the bands of the ultimak, but it's on there solid and the lines match up perfectly.
  3. i have the dinzag bullet guide and it was working for all except the last round as well. i took a dremmel with a grinding wheel and took a little material from under the feed lips (specifically at the front) so the rounds sit just a tad higher. now the rifle feeds 100% with the IMI's and it actually made the rifle cycle a bit faster and is much easier to download the mags by hand. ( it used to be very hard to do that) hope that helps. i just took 30 seconds a piece and made some cheap surplus mags work great.
  4. the tapco is much better than i expected. the heat shield doesn't look like much but it really works. i fired a few mags fairly rapid to test out my red dot holding up to the heat on the ultimak. the red dot and rail were very hot, almost too hot to touch, but the intrafuse was a little warm but even without gloves was not a bother at all.
  5. sounds like some fun projects. those mauser actions are great. i'm sure the .308 will put some smack down on some hogs. i shoot them all the time with 62 grain .223 out of my saiga and 90% of the time it's a one shot deal, but i will admit getting my ak scratched up in the brush is more of a badge on honor than a hassle. i dig the "bobba fett" look. i would probably feel guilty as well taking such a nice finish in and out of the truck on a bumpy ranch rd in search of hogs. haha
  6. that mauser looks awesome. is that the original wood stock?
  7. here is a pic of the red dot and the co-witness
  8. finally got a setup i'm happy with. got the barrel threaded with an A2 style flash hider, then the ultimak scout mount is perfect for the bushnell trs-25. great cheek weld and saves weight. makes the rifle great for snap shooting. now it's light enough for a one point sling.
