      Are they land sharks? If not, I'd go with guard Polar Bears. They can swim in the moat and go on land when needed.

      That might be the best suggestion yet, laser guided polar bears! Only problem is, how do they take to a warm climate? Maybe laser guided Siberian Tigers.
