Need Side Rail for Tromix S17 to Mount RDS

I would suggest looking into a Primary Arms RDS with the TRS25 mount pattern. Everything i have read about the new TRS25's says they are junk and not built to the "quality" that the older versions were. They just don't hold up like the old ones did. Bushnell somehow allowed the quality to take a shit, on what was once considered a quality optic for it's price range.

Yeah, definitely wiping the sweat from my brow about the whole side rail shimming thing.....WHEW! Bad thing is, unless you want to swap uppers again, you're stuck with some slim choices, due to the mounting pattern of that RDS.

    trigger group help

Nothing. They function the same. A double hook won't fit in an S12 unless you modify it or the receiver to accept it. A double hook can have some potential advantages tho, if you aren't scared to modify it some.
  4. They all have the same drivetrains, whether its Silverado/Sierra/Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon. 4.8's, 5.3's, 6.0's, 6.2's backed by 4l60e's, 4L70e's, 4L80e's, 5L80e's etc. etc. I would stay away from the models with DoD (Displacement on Demand), AKA; cylinder deactivation. They can/may develop lifter and cam shaft problems. If looking at a vehicle with a 6.0, pay close attention to the exhaust manifold bolts at the head. They are very commonly known for breaking off, on the drivers side especially. The all aluminum 5.3's found in '05-'06-'07's with the 8th digit of the VIN a B, are really good motors called L33's, a 325hp, 325ci V8. Figure out your dollar amount and go from there.

    Carry Belt

SOE (Special Operations Equipment) makes nice stuff but the lead time can be long. They are customizable, with different buckles and stitching. DeSantis makes heavy rigid thick leather carry belts that aren't too terribly expensive.

Leather or Synthetic? Options are endless.

Need Side Rail for Tromix S17 to Mount RDS

I traded a PRO for an RMR so i can give it a try. Debating on trying the AK302M lower so i can swap it over to my 107UR when i want, or just sticking with my old 301. First world problems. Anyone want to buy an RS 30mm upper mount?

    Mag conversion

Gotcha. I searched a little bit and from the handful of threads I came across in the Vepr forum and AKFiles, no definitive answer about the conversion. But I didn't dig deep. Seems alot went to ban states where the use of standard capacity OG AK mags is a no no.

    Mag conversion

Standard Saiga mags don't require a bullet guide. They have a feed lip built into the front of them. I think there was a lengthy thread over on the AKFiles about using standard AK mags in the Pioneer and Super.

You'll be happy with it once it's lined out.

It wouldn't be if that rear sight wasn't there. My mistake for not taking that into account early on.

If you are okay with the real estate that your current lower would leave exposed and unused, then just sell or return/exchange your current upper and get the upper that matches the different RDS. You'd be able to put it far enough forward that it would clear the HK sight upon removal. Otherwise yeah, your new plan will work too and look a little cleaner.

None of that matters because if the HK sight was not there, he could quickly, by the use the of a quick throw lever, remove it in a few seconds. Then upon re-installation, it would return to zero. I'm not even gonna address the shimming nonsense that you keep bringing up.

Yeah with that setup that's what you're gonna have to do. With the forward bias of the 301 mount and a 30mm upper, you're able to remove the dust cover with it installed. With that HK sight and super long picatinny upper, you're pretty well fucked for quick removal. Try cheating the RS upper as far forward on the lower as you can. Then try and remove the dust cover.
