  1. Tooth and Nail Armory makes a good extended mag release button for about $20. I had to do a bit of tweaking with the bolt and spring but it works great. Very solid mag lockup. I'm not in Cali but mine had the bullet button. Don't know about the legality of changing the BB for Cali residents.
  2. Centerfire shows out of stock. I'm 99% going to get one, but local shop has 2 for 865-. A bit more than I wouldve liked to pay but no shipping, no FFL fees, no CC fees or other BS. I was going to get a MIni 14 but the one I was in the middle of bidding on was pulled as I confirming on gunbroker...yeah ok
  3. Hmmm...guess I'll see if I can get a trigger guard and give it a shot, probably after the new year and keep everyone posted. And Indy, can I "borrow" your Thomas Jefferson quote?
  4. I'm not familiar with the Vepr. Given my last statement, from your experience, how would that work? And as far as price point as well?
  5. What I guess the real question should have been is with all external conditions being identical can a saiga/AK platform rifle be as accurate as an AR platform rifle, which is why I asked about the receiver. I'm looking to not pay 1500+ for a piston drive .223 rifle thats more accurate than my preban AK.
  6. I've got younger shooters in the house and have some concerns over the lack of a trigger guard. Its really the only thing left holding me back... Couldnt you use the mounting screw in front of the Kush trigger to mount a guard then modify the grip so a guard can be attached? It doesnt seem like it would be that hard but I've never done anything more than shoot and clean my weapons.
  7. Do they make a milled receiver .223? And would it be worth the money for any gained accuracy?
  8. That makes sense on not having to rely on mags for compliance. Stock, forearm, brake, hammer and trigger: If my parts count is right that would bring me to 9 foreign parts from a stock S-12? Guess I better watch the CSS trigger vid a couple dozen more times...lol
  9. Thats funny about the SAR-1 because it came with a 5 and a 30rnd mag when I bought it. In retrospect I shouldve bought the Romanian one with the milled receiver...
  10. As a newb I've been reading through this section for hints on conversions to bring my new zombie gun into compliance. I have US made 10rnd mags for my Saiga 12. I was planning on replacing the stock, fore grip, and screw on brake. I watched the CSS video on moving the trigger group and I almost think I could do it, well I'll have to think about that... What are your opinions on using the 3 parts in the mag to bring the gun into compliance? How long do I have to bring the gun into compliance, typically? Also I have a pre-ban 7.62 "SAR-1 Sportster" I bought in the early 90's that is
