Hello, Finally finished making my conversion work! I re-profiled the bolt and polished the hammer, carrier, bolt, and rails but was still not able to get the low brass to cycle. Since I'd done everything else I had no choice but to take on the gas ports. It went relatively easy although I could have been a bit more considerate of the finish. My 4 ports were unobstructed but ~ 1/16th. I tried all 4 at 5/64 first - still FTE. Then took the two middle ones up to 3/16 - ding, ding, ding! Zero FTE's with the cheap Federal stuff on MD 's 20 round drum at the #2 setting, and full FTE on the #

Not yet. My 1911 is still my 1st choice. However, once the bolt is re-profiled and it runs with 0 failures for looong rounds counts, then it probably will be my 1st choice. Right now I have it on the 2 setting even with higher velocity shells just for insurance.

Nevermind, I was looking for a 2 buck solution for a 2 cent problem.

Live2ride, did you have any issue with the grip fitting flush with the receiver? I've mounted the same stock/grip and can't close ~1/8" gap. Thanks!

Well I finally had time to shoot my not-yet-converted 12 this morning. What a blast! I had 100% FTE on Remington "club loads" 1145 fps, which I bought as the lowest fps I could find to really test it, on setting 2 of course. The good news is I had 0% FTE on Wally's Federal 1200 FPS bulk pack. The even better news is I launched my orders yesterday for all my conversion parts - can't wait!

Hi All, I'm in the process of narrowing down the choices on my conversion purchases and wanted to get your collective wisdom on ATI stocks vs Magpul. Thanks in advance!

Hello Everyone, Been lurking for a few weeks and took possession of my Saiga 12 today. I was surprised to hear it was an IZ111 instead of the IZ109. Can anyone advise what, if any, difference there is? Can't wait to start the modifications! I thought I'd use Tromix but I see they have quite a backlog, so I'll take a try at it myself and use the experience to know the platform better.
