  1. I am just about to buy either a MKA 1919 or a Vepr 12. I am based in the UK and will only use for practical shotgun competitions. With my budget I can only get the Standard Vepr 12 but the MKA will have a new stock, Level 10 tooth and nail forend, new bolt handle, trigger replaced, new gas block etc. Both these come out between $2,500 and $3,000 Which should I buy? Steve

  3. I am planning to cut down a vepr 12 and weld on a muzzle brake. However it has internal chokes and I still want to be able to have a choke fitted. Questions are as follows: Is there a choke/brake combo that can be welded on Is it difficult to re thread for an internal choke Steve
  4. Thanks for the info, I am just waiting for my FAC to be sorted and then I too will be off to Oleg with cash in hand. Is there anything that I should be aware of with the Vepr. Also if you do chop the barrel can you let me know who did it for you and waht it cost. I have seen quite a few threads on people chopping and threading the barrel themselves but I am not that practical :-)
  5. Thanks for the reply. I plan to take the Vepr to a Gunsmith and have the barrel took down to 24" and then threaded for a Saiga Muzzle brake after. Hopefully it will make it better performing. On a side note, is it possible to shorten it further and have a fixed muzzle brake still meeting the 24" law in the UK. I have read the Firearms Act and it is a little vague.
  6. Hi, looking to get a Vepr 12 in the UK, have found an importer but the barrel comes without threading to add a muzzle break, is it possible to thread the barrel and if so can anyone reccomend a gunsmith in the Uk to do this for me.
  7. I am looking to buy a Vepr 12 (.02) for practical shotgun in the UK. However, the Vepr 12 in the UK does not come with a threaded barrel for muzzle brakes, the barrel length is 27". The law in the UK staes the barrel length needs to be 24" minimum, my question therfore; is it possible to cust the barrel down to 24" (with a 27" barrel and muzzle brake it wil be too long, hence reduce to the minimum UK length) and thread it to allow a muzzle brake to be fitted. Also, can anyone reccomend a good gunsmith in the UK that can do this. Thanks. Steve
  8. Great post, but what I would love is a list of mags that will fit the Vepr 12 and where to get them in the UK.
  9. Hi I intend to order a Vepr 12 from Rusmilitary for UK PSG and wanted to hear from anyone in the UK has one and their personal experiances with them. Thanks Steve
