  1. Thanks. Oh and be nice to all three guys over on the saiga 20 side. Lmao
  2. The hammering sells the tough, mean Russian weaponry ideology better! Lmao
  3. True, but few owners have that on there guns anymore.
  4. First I will give Evl the credit for kicking off this concept. I just took it a bit further. Simple, nothing extra to carry, forget, or lose. Always with the gun! Tons of leverage for even the most stubborn levers. Hope this helps guys. Let me know if you dig it!
  5. This was cheap, looks decent, and got me a fast, comfortable, and repeatable cheek weld. Requires 1/2" pipe insulation and your choice of color para cord. I stopped the wrap on bottoms tube because I ran short on paracord. LOL
  6. I have the CSS version. Beautifully machined, and what a great company to buy from. I love this thing. Killer looks. Much lighter than you may imagine. And all the ladies say" oh my, it's soo big"
  7. I tried to label the steps (1) (2) etc. I'm not very at times I know, and I have a dry sense of humor, so it all can be very confusing sometimes. I try to reread and make sure it's coherent. Weirdly it all makes sense inside MY head. Lol
  8. I think a poll is in order! Lol
  9. Are you still playing "one of these things is not like the other one!" Lmao.
  10. Malls need Ninjas too! Lol jk. Chaos makes excellent stuff, and wanting excellent stuff can't be wrong? Right. But high plains is right in that "run of the mill" parts don't fit because it's not a "run of the mill gun". It's not for everyone, and may not be want he wanted. But others it may be the holy grail. He needs to decide which side of the fence he's on. Easily convertable/plethora of parts or leave it alone/make it yourself. Both sides has it's advantages or disadvantages. I'm know what side of the fence I'm on and there's lots of "green" over here! Lmao
  11. MUST have more pictures!!!!! Lol if you can't get the chaos rail to fit, I will buy or get what you want, to trade!
  12. If you choose to "cut it off" without disassembly, be forewarned it has steel embedded in it. FYI
  13. The pins in the tubes should not be compromised and are easily reused. The detent rivet in the upper tube if removed is going to leave a large hole in that top tube. And since the tube is such light material it will most likely distort during the removal process. That is why I chose to not disassemble further. But I would seriously consider just grinding off the top head of what I'm calling the detent rivet leaving it in place thereby keeping a solid look to the top tube. If you did choose to remove that rivet you would just have to counter drill the backside where it was staked. So to answer
  14. You can see the gas jets, and their vectors. I don't know much, but I got an air compressor in the garage. At 100psi when you pull the handle on the air blower it is a noticeable thrust. So how can a much higher pressure not help? Winchester slugs. Ole smokies! Love the split second of calm after the shot, and the the a smack as the slug broaches a hole in the target.
  15. At times I wonder if I should have got a square-back. But these folders are military tough. That's not marketing bs. I learned that from suspending the gun on both ends and sitting on the middle while I welded it. I'm 235# min.
  16. Look into "flat top vepr" different reason but same concept. You would have to drill and knock out detention rivet also
  17. No, I had thought about just tig welding to eliminate the wiggle. I know it's angled to line up the sights, but it never really worked for me. I believe the stock in line with the bore is the best arrangement for reduced muzzle rise and quicker target acquisition. So I reworked it. I had hoped to take the cheek riser off and fix that too but I didn't feel like removing the detent rivet. It is only retained into the thin tubing. So I fixed it another way.
  18. I agree, his guide rod assy was one of the finishing touches I needed to free up the action on one particularly troublesome saiga.
  19. What I mean by high brass was just a simple non adjustable puck that would only work with high brass and if the need to shoot bird shot came up you would just use the factory puck is that the kind of thing your suggesting? Yes. I have various other options. But with the way these things are designed, the gas hardware is only accessible from the handaguard side. So to get a affordable solution, useable by anyone with the ability to field strip their gun, this is a rock solid solution. It will protect from expensive and irreparable damage. And make shooting enjoyable again for those of us who l
  20. I was in a rush and didn't hook up the remote on the tig. With that you can throttle the amps, and instead of pulling out (which causes all the issues we have been discussing) when you near the end of the weld you just pinch it down and it looks like the millennium falcon as it disappears!
  21. I offered in your thread!
  22. That should be nbd to tig up. You could take a que from the izzy plant and weld across the top too.
