  1. Did a mod on the check riser, started a post about it. But yes I grew it's awkward. But it looks SOO cool!!
  2. It clearly looks to me that the top of the pin is above the bottom or the rear sight block. And therefore must have been drilled to install the pin. So I maintain that the weld comes along with the more accurate rifle sights. As there was no concern with the bead sight drifting. But alas I have never been in the Molot factory and it's all speculation on my part.
  3. Ok, that pic I posted earlier was actually and old photo on my ph. It was of the saiga 030. Izzy first vepr second
  4. I don't know about you guys but the cheek riser never stays where I put it and always moves right in heat of the moment! Here's the trick. Way too much work to pull it all the way off. So turn it all the way to the right, pull it all the way to the rear and place some vice grips on tube to hold in the rear position. The Use a dremel to deepen the notch. The goal is to get the mating surface of the stock to be perpendicular to the pin. This way whatever marks you make on tube will never be visible when in a normal position. And it locks solid, but still easily repositioned when purposed to
  5. My original pins worked loose in the factory configuration. So I chose to be wiggle free. It folds and locks up all the same.
  6. Max 1/4" shorter, but I like a shorter stock. So nbd to me.
  7. (4)cut to stock tubes to new angle (5)redrill new holes and install pins (6)*optional* weld tubes to ensure unlimited skull crushing ability.
  8. (1)drill through latch to access backside of lower pin (2)k-nock the pins out (3)re-machine holes to proper angle (dremel and large cylinder stone)
  9. This products availability is dependent on you. I put it in motion and contacted a very successful and busy business member here. For him to redirect and push aside profitable endeavors, they need to see the market is ripe. It will make it to market eventually, but will be on a back burner until then. It's out of my hands now.
  10. Light the fires! Let'r rip boys! What do you think? If someone wants a how-to I took enough pics.
  11. Anyone have any luck with a certain model limbsaver?
  12. Whew! But Greg's GK-01 isn't much over100$
  13. Who charges 400$ to cut and perm? Must be an Up-do for prom!
  14. <<<NOT A BUSINESS MEMBER!!>>> Stop trying to solicit your services.
  15. I hate to agree with Mach 1. But my assessment of the welds are to maintain accuracy on the sights. It looks like it's where the welder(technician) pulled out of the welded to quick. And the parts were hot, and it cracked when it cooled. It's not very reassuring I know. Yours appears to be welded on the vertical, whereas mine is across the top.
  16. Nuh hun. Mine was BIGGER! Lol there may have been some with very light welds. I work with welding and steel everyday. I got a 9" wildcat if need be. But they are burning these welds in nice, and after filing flush and scoring down the parting line I had to hold down on the receiver and hang the stock out in the open and beat it with a dead blow 20+ times. Now don't get me wrong the gun was never going to win. But it was enough to loosen the pins where the two tubes go in the back of the folding mechanism. So yeah I was bummed. The hinge locks tight but the stock rattles now. So I'm going to re
  17. Could you take some more pics from different angles?
  18. No that was me razzing sunnybeam about a bleed off puck. There are several drawbacks to a bleed puck(1) without external and permanent mods to the gun the vent gas and fouling would have to be purged I to the upper gas tube and into the reciever(2) it would require a very small orifice and thus clog easily and unpredictably. You are correct in it being a high brass solution, you are also correct in cost effectiveness and simplicity.
  19. It's does not deter from the original Kalashnikov design, it does not add to the complexity, nor take away from the reliability. It follows the ak "design intent". It is as simple,as mechanically possible, by no accident. The factory blew smoke up everyone's @ about an adjustable gas system. They lied. I will not. It is not auto-regulating at this time. It is selectable , that is to say, much like the gas plugs with various notches. It will be set for a specific ammo. It will not be externally adjustable at this time, as that would require permanent alterations to the gun. It will however, dr
  20. Uh AR's suck! So why would you want direct gas impingent on a vepr?! Let's blow shit all over our action and trigger! "Ok"US government"we'll take 50million" lmao. Sorry sunny, I know a simple NO would propaly have sufficed. In the words of Kevin heart "I can't really get into it right now, but it's about.....to go down!"
  21. Thanks big titties! Lol I promised once I got my Russian brothers home, I would shit out an answer to the gas systems
  22. I can buy 20 new guns but I can't replace my shoulder! My brother has had surged on his shoulder, and my father has been favoring his for 20 years. So it must be bad genes in that regard. But no matter the approach, most everyone agrees they are over-gassed. I can mod mine, but that doesn't do anyone else any good!
  23. I can tell you both my saiga 030/vepr12 are brutal! Sadly dissapointed, I have the solution. But need market feedback to get the right players involved.
  24. I'm not teasing or trolling. I need to know how many VEPR 12 owners would pay for a drop in solution. It would require field stripping to install. It would be selectable, so if you knew you were shooting slugs you would install "x". It would have no more moving parts than factory. It would soften recoil and reduce wear/eliminate damage. It would NOT help the gun cycle low brass. It would be to reduce gas with NO modification or alterations to the gun. It would also count as a 922 compliance part. Price would be under 100$
