  1. I think you can just get a sex screw or male/female type screw, i beleive I saw them at ak-builder before. Should be easy if you go that route.
  2. Well maybe not a year but on average thats what I shoot. Im into the carbine courses and that style of "dynamic shooting". Love it. My bcm ar has a lot of rounds down the pipe.
  3. Ya I hope it goes longer than 20k. Thats about a years worth of shooting if I'm training with only one rifle for that perticular year.
  4. Ok I was just curious because I have never noticed that before on a new saiga and I have seen many, but then again maybe I never payed attention to it. I dont have headspace gauges, what would be a simple way to tell if it is ok to fire, the tape method on the primer end of a live round (ill remove the firing pin). and thank you for your time. And also why would they machine it, I thought headspace was adjusted by moving the barrel? I notice if I take the bolt out of the carrier and insert the bolt into the trunnion/lock-up in barrel, it is a little snug, but feels like it should. Will my bran
  5. Hey guys as some of you know I have gotten a new 5.45 saiga. I have not shot it yet. Please look at the rear of these bolt lugs and tell me if you think this is normal. The finish is worn off but the rifle is brand new. I guess the wear could have been from racking the action..?
  6. here is a pic of the lugs. again this is brand new and unfired. When I cycle the bolt without the recoil spring in it kind of hangs up just ever so slightly when going into battery. probly because its new. it seems like it was grinded at factory to adjust tight headspace maybe..i dont know.
  7. It did come strait from the factor but has been sittin on the shelf for months, probobly from people rackin' th action.
  8. Hey guys I notice my saiga bolt on the rear where the locking lugs are have no finish and the rifle has not been fired yet it is brand new. is this normal for there to be no finish on the rear of the locking lugs on the bolt where it locks into the trunnion? just curious. its a brand new saiga should i have to worry about checking the headspace, and if the headspace was off what would be the signs of this. thank you so much for your help.
  9. ..pinned on front sight block and gas block. so I would like to do the front end conversion to add the lower handguard retainer so i can run wood furniture. any advice on where to get the new gas block and front sight block, also since the stock ones are only pinned on can i hit them off with a rubber mallet and install the new ones the same way?
  10. Also I remember looking at my friends 762x39 saiga and his bcg was beating the hell out of his rear trunnion so he put this blue buffer in there..will that blue buffer thing put any stress on the receiver and will i need one in my 545x39 saiga? I definatly dont want mine looking like his because I plan on shooting thousands of rounds through this thing and it needs to last a life time. i doubt my friends will last another 5000. thanks.
  11. Oh cool so any ak-74 extractor will work. Thanks. So do you think ammo is going to stay around? I know the red army standard stuff is not russian so it should stay afloat ya?
  12. hey guys I am new around here but pretty familiar with forums. i am wondering where a guy would find a spare saiga 545 extractor and firing pin, not that it will be needed but i like to have spare parts. thanks. and nice forum.
