  1. I traded a lower handguard with KC913 for an AK mag. His communication is outstanding, he had the AK mag in the mail immediately, and gave me good feedback about the handguard when he received it. Good guy, no reservations about dealing with him.
  2. I don't know if my PM made it to you, but I will trade you my handguard for a decent steel 30-round 7.62 mag....
  3. I have a garden-variety, unmodified Saiga handguard and stock from my S-223. The handguard has the retaining screw and sling swivel. I also have a flat black polymer textured AKM upper handguard, origin unknown (NOT marked U.S.). I just want these off my desk, make me an offer.....
  4. Okay, I don't know if this is the most appropriate place, but I wanted to show off my family portrait before Baby Saiga (.223) goes to her new home.
  5. I want to make my s223 look like and old-school ak-74 (and not with bakelite). Pics would be appreciated, would like the set to be US compliant if possible. Email me at mtberen@izoom.net
  6. Yes, I seem to have caught the Galil bug, and want to sell my s223....I converted it this spring using several of Dinzag's custom made parts: lower handguard retainer, flat feed ramp, ak-74 muzzle brake, and gas tube. In addition it features the Tapco G2 FCG and black K-VAR furniture (US-made NATO length). I will be refinishing the rifle over the next several days in black Dura-cote, and will post updated pictures afterward. The pic below is how it looks as of this posting. I'm including 2 modified Orlite magazines and four "half-modified" ak-74 mags (they will fit in the rifle, but the fol
  7. OK, here's my Vulcan story. I got my Saiga in late 2004 from Joe/Ken firearms; I had the usual complaints that everyone else shares: crappy muzzle brake weld, nasty finish. The first time I took it out, the folding stock nearly fell off, and the lower handguard did fall off. The fix for the folding stock was some locktite on the retaining screws, and I bought an m-14 two-piece bayonet lug as a handguard retainer. As it turns out, the notch was cut into the barrel too far forward for the handguard retainer to hold it in place. I was detecting a bit of trigger slap, so I replaced the FCG wi
  8. Thanks a bunch, Bob...couldn't have done it without the advice of the good folks on this forum, and Dinzag's outstanding parts!
  9. Ordered the upper handguard, the two-piece lower handguard retainer, the muzzle brake with set screws, and the flat feed ramp. Everything fit perfectly, with easy to read instructions in PDF format. With the help of Dinzag and the other knowledable folks on this forum, even a dumbass like me could make a rifle that looks this good
  10. Crap, CDNN just raised their new Orlite mags to $20; anyone know if I can get them cheaper elsewhere?
  11. Wow, beautiful Little Falls....I've been to the Lindberg house, the wild animal park, and gotten thrown out of that little supper club across the highway from the Camp Ripley exit....
  12. LOL Bob, I also said "shitty" and "hesse" in the same sentence......It's been a long road with that gun: loctited folding stock after it came loose first time out; bought a dinzag-style retainer because the lower handguard kept coming off; filed down the terrible muzzle brake weld; filed the back of the receiver where they welded on the rear block; and finally sandblasted the whole damn thing because they didn't touch up the finish after the conversion (bloches all over the receiver). Anyway, I did find the plugs at Lowes; as soon as I said Hillman, they knew exactly what I was talking a
  13. Oops, I hit the "add" button instead of the "preview" button. BTW, my s-223 is going to be getting a Dinzag feed ramp; any AK-74 mags or Orlite mags taken in trade would have to fit.
  14. New Surefire 30 round mag that came with my S-223. Make offer, or will trade for SAIGA MODIFIED AK-74 mags in good condition, or Orlite plastic mags in good condition. BTW, regarding
  15. Thanks for the help guys, I'll see if those stores have them....If not, I'll be talking to you Bob. BTW, great addendum to the Saiga cookbook, very helpful. I just finished the PG conversion on my .223 with the exception of the stuff I'm getting from Dinzag (HG retainer, feed ramp, muzzle break, gas tube). Also got my 7.62x39 back from the sandblasting shop; primed and hit it with the Duplicolor low-gloss....Boy, it's really making my shitty old Hesse conversion look good.
