Man, nursing homes are depressing. I hope I never have to be in one. If I'm to the point that I require more care than my family can provide, I'm gonna eat a .45 Ranger.

She still jokes and talks shit, though. She just doesn't know who any of us are. I think her still having a sense of humor makes a little easier to see her. Of course, it's not going to get any better, but at least for now, she still has that.

Yeah my mom has dementia (alzheimers is a form of dementia) and damn she's a pain to deal with. Asks the most illogical questions. I know she supposedly can't help it and never will get what is happening to her but damn she's a pain to deal with. Tell her to go left and bet 5 bucks and watch, she'll go right almost ever time. No cognitive at all. Basically, she's just an animated shell, you look in and there's barely anything in the brain pan.

I feel completely the opposite after helping take care of my grandparents until their deaths. Oh, how I don't want to burden the ones I love......
