  1. I agree, he is rude. I've seen him logged on several times "since he got back home". You're not alone. He wasted plenty of my time too.
  2. vjor: One thing is certain. The $30 you saved didn't go towards English lessons!! No, I'm not so DOME to not be able to put in a feedramp. What the hell do you think I did, put in the AK74 mags without one? Perhaps you should pay attention before running your mouth (like someone else)! Reality Check My original comment was an attempt to assist another member and I didn't find mrapathy2000's arrogant replies favorable (which incidentally he has edited like a coward). It's all good. I won't be dropping by here again anyway.
  3. Jealous? Of what? Some pompous self-high-5-ing gun hack? Don't flatter yourself, Einstein. You don't have the skills nor the IQ to be advising anyone about anything gun-related. That's a FACT. Try to get that! You couldn't even figure out what was meant by the plane and YOUR gun analogy Bright Boy, so face it. You won't be working at Ishmash. Hate to be the one to break the news to ya. NOT!! If you think (and obviously you do) you're a genius with modifying an AK, offer a symposium. I'm 100% certain the line outside waiting to get in will be about this long ---> _
  4. mrapathy: It's a damn shame that Ishmash didn't have YOU and your mAd GuNsMiThInG SkIllZ on-board during the R & D of the AK-100 series! Let's hope that all military units using those polymer mags are OK. Didn't you recently post "failures to feed" with your .223 set-up? Now, after what... 1 month it's perfect? Wow, that's a real testimonial there. Anyhow, I didn't come on here to argue with "A Legend In His Own Mind". I've read and seen enough of your posts to know that if YOUR gun was an airplane, I wouldn't be flying on it!!
  5. mrapathy: You seem extremely proud of yourself. For what, I have no idea. No need to tell me either. I really couldn't care less. Anyhow..... Some basic reading skills would perhaps enlighten you regarding my post. Then again, maybe not. I offered insight based on what is available NOW. The Saiga 30-round factory mags are more reliable than any other mags available, period. That alone should be worth $30.00 to anyone who might need their rifle to save their ass someday.
  6. Good luck getting .500" OD copper pipe to fit over a .571" OD barrel.
  7. Like new condition. Black synthetic, removed from a .223 Saiga. $25.00.
  8. Very nice set. Commie red-orange. A few coats of Tru Oil sprayed on, then hand rubbed with rottenstone. $65 shipped, 48 States.
  9. TIP: You will need an AK74 gas tube and an AK74 handguard retainer. An AK47 gas tube and retainer will not fit properly. As stated, press off the FSB & gas block for best results. Here's mine:
  10. Drift the pins out of the FSB and gas block, then use this tool (inverted from picture) and a 12-ton press. There's no way the parts were coming off without a hydraulic press. There was a high-pitched screeching sound as the parts were pressed that would put any nails across a chalkboard to shame. I cut the necessary groove in the barrel with a 5/32" round file and used a Russian AK74 handguard retainer to complete the job.
  11. I built it in my home workshop. FCG is a double-hook setup from Global Trades. Very smooth and light. I haven't shot it since installing the AK74 muzzle brake. I gathered most of the parts off of various gun boards. Here's the results scoped (Bushnell Elite 3x9x40) at 100 yards:
  12. If the home-made pipe bullet guide (feedramp) doesn't lift the bullet high enough, just put a shim (piece of sheet metal) under it.
  13. Looking for black handguards in excellent condition, either K-Var or Bulgarian
