  1. For both of my conversions, I used a wooden dinner tray/stand as my work surface, a drill, a couple taps, and a file. Easy peasy japaneasy.
  2. 1: There are Shepherds crooks, e-clips, hitch pins, retainer plates, etc. There are numerous options to holding those pins in place. 2: The vast majority of Saigas that I have seen and read about already have all the holes pre cut, so all you have to do is remove the cover plate and you're good to go. I have the utmost confidence in my weapon.
  3. I have a suggestion. Since people who throw VFG's on AK's complain of how it interferes with the "rock-n-lock" mag insertion of an AK mag, I'd suggest getting a stubby VFG. I got one from Spikes Tactical for my AR, and it's solid and comfortable as hell...........and it's stubby. Plus, it's only $30. http://spikestactical.com/catalog/product_...products_id=124 Here it is on my AR: Thanks, I didn't think about that.
  4. Yeah I figured someone else had already done it. Now I just need to settle on which vertical grip to get.
  5. Ok, this has probably been done before but I haven't seen anything like it, but what got me thinking is that I wanted a forward vertical grip on my 7.62 but to do so would cost a bit of money with the parts necessary to convert the forearm to a standard AK forearm, plus the cost of a new forearm with the picatinny rails. So the other day I saw that Tapco sells a set of picatinny rails for their Galil forearm: Tapco Galil Rails. It comes with a curved rail and two straight rails, and I thought why couldn't I just put those two straight rails on the stock Saiga forearm. So I did. It turned out p
  6. Yes, Daniel Craig is anti-gun, he is British afterall. The last Bond was definitely one of my favorites and I anxiously await this one.
  7. I thought it looked hard and time consuming too. But once I did it, I realized it was ridiculously easy. Took me 3 hours and all I had was a Dremel and a cordless drill. A large portion of that 3 hours was just trying to drill through the dang spot weld.
  8. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Krinkov fixed stock from RPB industries? Thinking about using one on a conversion and just wanted to see if it was a piece of junk or not before I order it. Thanks. Krinkov Stock from RPB Industries.
  9. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but the Tromix modified Tapco FCG is capable of fitting into a Saiga 12 with no further grinding/filing? Im about to start a S12 conversion and have read that the Tapco FCG needed to be filed down in a couple spots to keep it from getting hung up. Thanks.
  10. He sold it yesterday. I'm pretty sure to some schmuck who believed the 12ga conversion crap. I would have bought it, but after he tried to feed me that line off bull I chose not to do business with him.
  11. Yeah that's what I thought. I asked how the piston would still work and he didn't have a good answer. Thanks guys.
  12. Hello, sorry if this has been asked, but, a dealer on another forum is selling a Saiga .410 and says that it can be converted to a 12ga by swapping the barrel off a 12ga Remington 870 shotgun, is this true? I don't think it would work, but I don't know much about shotguns. Thanks.
