  1. Nothing's wrong. The economy is great. Debt is good. The dollar is strong enough. Inflation is not so bad. The Federal Reserve has your best interest in mind. The police are here to protect you. You don't really need to be armed. There's nothing to worry about. Relax. Go back to sleep. ============ Screw that! I'll stay awake, thank you.
  2. I read that it's good to avoid mounting on the receiver if you can. Apparently, the receiver expands from heat, affecting accuracy. I can't comment from first hand experience.
  3. Is it possible? Is it safe? How do you do it correctly?
  4. Azrial, Since you look up to our founding fathers, note that our founding fathers opposed a corrupt government to create this great nation. Don't confuse our founding fathers with the current yahoos running this country. -Jake
  5. How hard is it to get replacements for parts that are more prone to break or wear out? I will soon have my Saiga 308 in my hands. I was thinking about getting a second Saiga 308. One reason would be to ensure I have replacement parts. These guns are not that expensive; so, I figure what the heck. However, I may not get a second gun if replacement parts are easy to get. Please don't respond with something like, "Don't worry because nothing will wear out."
  6. How's the combat reliability record of the Springfield M1A compared to the Saiga 308 (or AK47)? I'm thinking reliability is traded for accuracy (?), and accuracy costs more.
  7. What's a reasonable price for an 8 round magazine? I think my local shop said $27 if I remember correctly. Does anybody have a link to an online seller with a decent price?
  8. I got a 22" barrel. My plans are to leave a scope off this gun. The longer sight radius will help me. The faster bullet and the wood furniture are bonuses. Then again, I may cut the barrel later depending on my mood, or I may buy a 16 incher later because these guns aren't that expensive.
  9. the gun is shorter because the entire grip stock group is moved forward a few inches. I doubt the length of pul is much shorter then a standard Saiga. Look closely at the picture, the thumbhole pistol grip is under the receiver like an AK grip, not further back like a standard stock. This accounts for the shorter length of the rifle overall. I bet it feels like the old MAK-90s with the thumbhole stock. You're right. Generally, I've never had the opportunity to shoot a long gun that has a pistol grip. I'm a city guy; that's my excuse. What would a pistol grip do for me?
  10. Based on the dimensions on the RAA website, the butt must be shorter in length than the standard butt. (The overall length of the gun is less.) I don't think I'd want that. http://www.raacfirearms.com/Saiga_308.htm http://www.raacfirearms.com/Saiga_308v21.htm
  11. Hi everybody, I can't find a Saiga 308, wood, 16" barrel. I'm thinking about buying a Saiga 308, wood, 22" barrel. Then, I'll either have a gunsmith cut the barrel down to 16" or buy a 16" barrel. Is buying a 16" barrel even possible? Is it possible to buy the synthetic version and then replace the synthetic furniture with wood? Regards, Jake McCoy
