  1. That sucks. For comparison, the regular 22" Saiga 308 comes with some decent wood on it. Anyway, in California, I couldn't have the ver21 without jumping through hoops first.
  2. Irrelevant to most... In California, it's a pistol grip, not allowed. You'd have to fill in the hole or make other modifications to the magazine. See www.calguns.net for details.
  3. Man, I need to move out of California. :-(

I understand the target is 14" x 30". Even still, from a bench at 50 yards, it seems like you should be able to get all shots within the 9 ring. In a real life situation, you have to expect a certain amount of inaccuracy outside of what you have here. I'm guessing the 9 ring is about 4" x 6". That seems completely doable from a bench at 50 yards with iron sights. With this grouping from a bench at 50 yards, I'd be keenly interested in figuring out how to tighten the group.
  5. This Youtube video helped me... Search Youtube for "field strip AK47" for similar videos that may help. Good luck. By the way, do have patience. Expecting people to respond with helpful information within 45 minutes is unrealistic and bordering on rude.
  6. I'm familiar with the work. I'm confident I can do it right the first time on my valued Saiga 308. I just don't know where I can get my hands on all the necessary tools for the whole job! (There's probably a few others like me.) I tried to pay an experienced gunsmith. He told me that it would cost me more than the value of the gun. I've since convinced myself that I really want my 21" barrel as it is...lol
  7. I don't know, but most or all stores went through a sizable price jump on this gun in the last month.
  8. I have a stock 21" wood Saiga 308. I didn't make any alterations (yet). I spent good money on extra magazines and ammo, which was easily more than the price of the gun. I like the gun. I probably will not add a scope.
  9. Someone please explain the 10 round conversion on 8 round magazine, or provide the link. I searched for the thread but can't find it.
  10. See youtube for some field stripping videos. I would not have been able to reassemble without seeing a video.
  11. Someone on here recommended that ammo to me and was pleased. He said his Saiga 308 likes it. I have not tried it though.
  12. Wolf from Cabela's is still cheaper if you don't mind steel. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...requestid=65489
  13. DD's Ranch $350 http://ddsranch.com/store/product_info.php...c02b2f623f7efc9 Prices are going up. I saw a store just raise the wood 21" $100 to $470.
  14. You asked for it... http://www.planetdan.net/pics/misc/nakedhillary.htm
  15. I bought Wolf from Cabela's because it was cheap. Price went up though. It shoots good enough I guess. I haven't compared it to anything else.
  16. Which is more accurate without a scope?
  17. I view discussing the sniping capabilities of the Saiga 308 as simply trying to figure out the limits of the Saiga 308. There's nothing wrong with that.
  18. OK, the last sentence is a joke haha. Is the rest of your post a joke too?
  19. The reason I asked is for "just in case." If sh!t can happen, it will. I might be in a situation (at the range, hunting or whatever) where I have some rounds in my pocket and for whatever reason there are no magazines around. Maybe I dropped them down a cliff; maybe they were stolen; maybe they failed; maybe there's not enought time to load a magazine...whatever. I know this technique described by Zebra (pull bolt back; drop in round) is absolutely NOT recommended on a Glock. I was wondering if the same admonition applied to a Saiga 308.
  20. Azial, The fact that you come across as young and unwilling to learn says a lot about your intellect. Informed, intelligent people welcome new information, even if they ultimately reject it. I see your mind is only open to what your Professors showed you - good luck with that. -Jake P.S. The 10 hours of video would be a crash course start for you, but that's a mute point since, according to you, you're above it.
  21. Japanese American internment camps were an attack on Americans during WWII. Trust that if you were one of those Japanese Americans, you would have felt attacked. What's crazy to me is that people who are uninformed get belligerent and continue to remain uninformed on purpose.
