  1. i kinda think everyone here is missing a certain point. you wont be engaging in a longterm military battle. you wont be shooting 1000's of rounds either. you can easily carry 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 in a well made back pack. probably even more if you are in good shape. based on a most likely scenario you will shoot alittle and move alot.
  2. is it wise to store houndreds of loose rounds in a ammo container like a 50cal ammo box or cabelas plastic storage box?
  3. ibought 6 brand new metal bulgarion ak mags that are finished in black matte. i would like to paint them olive drab green. do i need to remove the black to paint them and if so how do i remove the black finish? note im not a good handyman.
  4. i just got my 6 brand new steel bulgarion ak 30rd mags and they look awesome. but they are covered in a light coat of cosmo oil. how do i get rid of that crap?
  5. never mind i found the other hole!
  6. on wednesday i will recieve a romanian wire folding stock. the pictur eof it shows 2 screws at the top. the tang of my saiga only has 1 screw hole. does that mean that i will mount it using the 1 screw?
  7. i want to buy a romanian wire side folding stock for my saiga. but now i think i need to get a rear trunnion. it says that the stock mounts to existing trunnion. but saigas dont have a trunnion. i went to you tube and watched a video of a guy removing a tantal wire stock and he showed a weird looking trunnion that the stock was mounted to. i have spent hours looking for a rear trunnion but cant find what i think i need.
  8. i located a wire-fold stock and im thinking about buying it. its says that it comes with trunnion screws and screws for the tang. it fits all stamped squared off recievers. i know my saiga is stamped. i think it is squared off. does this thing just mount right in like a tapco ak stock or is there some metal working that needs to be done.
  9. a friend of mine was looking at my saiga and asked me what the barrel life of my 308 is. I went online and could not find any info about this. I wondering if any of our saiga gurus on this forum could give a reasonable expectation.
  10. holy shit what a pig and what a shot. i guess i dont need a heavy bullet weight
  11. can the saiga 308 surefire mags handle the 185 grain 308 ammo? im worried about the total length not fitting the surefire mags
  12. I was just quoted a price of $600 to convert my saiga 308 from the place I bought it from. are you fucking kidding me? fuck that i will try to do it myself.
  13. does anyone know if a tapco fusion handguard system will fit on a draco? if it does then it will be easy to add a red dot sight to a draco
  14. the 16" saiga 308 will reach out to 500 yards. whats wrong with that?
  15. I have decided to paint my saiga 308 with either rustoleum engine paint or dupla-color engine paint. But I plan on painting the receiver and the barrel the same color. Is there any problems with painting the barrel that I dont know about?
  16. Can you guys add a shit hit the fan sub forum? I think that there would be a lot of interest and debate here if you did. Also I can see many good ideas and plans talked about.
  17. I have fired 400 rounds with the strikefire mounted and have had no issues with it. The unit works great and holds zero so far. HOWEVER the 2x doubler is crap. The recoil of the 308 stripped the doubler and it flew into my right eye. I was not hurt but the doubler was stripped and was rendered useless. If anyone is thinking of buy this I say yes. I have recently decided that I want some magnification so Im gonna get a burris 3x9

  19. i have looked at cabelas and they are on my possibles list. they make the most sense
  20. you can never have enough ammo regardless of the caliber. I say to carry as mush as you possibly can. For me if a shtf event happens I will be going into forests. mountains or hills away from cities. Im currently actualy planning this out with maps and such. I also need to buy a gps system. Im thinking of using some type of cart system that i can roll behind me that can carry maybe 200 pounds of supplies. As sick as I am I actualy hope some bad shit happens. I also hope that I will be ready. My favorite thing would be some type of zombie rising.
  21. the saiga 12 is a great SHORT RANGE weapon. 50 yards is long range for buck shot. I'd take my chances against someone at 50 yards with him using buckshot against my saiga 308. Unless you are running I will never miss at 50 yards with a 308 rifle. trying to hit someone with buckshot at 50 yards? good luck! try the best of both worlds. convert a saiga 12 into a pistol grip shotgun with no butt stock and also have a saiga 308 or 7.62x39
  22. i have shot 400 rounds of brown bear 145 grain fmj. this has left that damm red lacquer on the bolt head. how do i remove this without me screwing up the bolt head?
  23. i know my first question today was probably idiotic but is 2" enough eye relief for my 308?
  24. is a 5x scope enough to shoot out to 500 yards? I dont have much experience using scopes on rifles?
  25. im looking to obtain a amd-65. i have a saiga 16"308 thats fired 300 rounds. I would be willing to trade the saiga for the amd-65. in the deal i will include 480 rounds of mixed 308 ammo. i also have 2 25 round, 1 20 round, 1 8 round magazines. I have installed the russian skeleton stock that i modified. i have a utg scope mount on with a vortex red dot sight mounted on the rifle. I have 2 other saigas. my email is facepull@myway.com
