  1. I haven't seen anyone question the cure time. Duracoat reached it's full bonding strength after 3 weeks. Use before then is ALLWAYS at the owner's risk! I would agree that it was probably not properly degreased before painting. The degreaser that the Duracot people recommend is DuraStrip (which costs about $50.00 per gallon, delivered - so many people scrimp on this.) and it needs to be tested for adhesion after the initial application. My son does these finishes for a number of SWAT members and everone raves about the results. My guess is that the guy who did it was a real amature.
  2. The wilderness MirageFlage is very effective in almost all enviornments. My son does Duracoating for a local gunsmith and you can see from the attached pictures that it works! Weapon is an Olympic Arms 9mm AR-15. The effectiveness is varied based upon the order of the color application and what color is desired to be dominant. This one was done with a Cayote Brown Base Coat, Matt Black second ocat, Woodland Green third Coat, with Woodland Brown accents, and then blended with a Matt Clear final finish.
  3. Understood. It's good to have friends like yourself. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to know if it was done by RDTS (or who made it) and if he was happy with it. The fact hat he was able to put 15,000 rounds through it leads me to believe it seems to indicate that, but never hurts to ask. Also, does it work with both M60 links and the German, non disintegrating type? Sorry for all the questions but if I am going to shell out the price of a small used car for something I would like to know that it will hold up, and am looking for all the first hand info I can find. There seems to
  4. Ever think of having it Duracoated? The Digiflage patters I have seen are phenomenal!
  5. What did you finally do here? I am looking for a Semi-Auto built to HK21E standards with the HK21E reinforced reciever that will hold up. Many HK21's were built on HK 91/G3 receivers which self destruct after about 10,000 rounds, or so I have been told. If you or your buddy still have a HK21 built to "E" Standards, I would like to talk. Please asvise.
