Hello, it has been a while since I've posted. I purchased a S12 converted with Tapco parts, including Tapco side folder. The only thing left to do is to install a Bolt Hold Open which I purchased from CSS. It does not fit with the current Tapco hammer, I saw the tutorial from CSS and during the video he stated that I had to grind off (sand off) .050 from the hammer, I am sure that he means from the same side that the BHO goes on, the thickness of the BHO is .088. When I install the hammer (no spring) and with the pin through it, it moves back and forth with very little slack it does move

Ok, been living in the HK world for quite some time and I have partnered with a FFL and cerakoter, I do the hydrodipping. So I am tearing down my modified 12 for coat and dip. Going to weld up the holes from the pistol grip change and I wanted to add the BHO open modification as I like the idea. Plan to polish the bolt later as the 10 round mag doesn't feed the first round well at all. I started looking through the dealers here and I can't find anyone expect CSS that has one and I am not sure yet if it is workable on a model with the pistol mod. I have a very early model ( I bought it new fo

Hi i just recently got my hands on the saiga 7.62x39 and thinking about making a conversion, thus a few points I need to clear out 1) If i want to put original AK hand guards, can I just replace gas tube (bulgarian, or other), will this fit saiga gas block? I know i need a lower retainer too, any other parts needed? 2) Polishing parts. I plan on getting tapco single hook FCG polished, is there gonna be any benefit from this, should I get other parts polished or maybe not do it at all? 3) I'm kind of new to the gun game, and not sure if i should keep BHO or not? Thanks!

I'm fairly new to AK's. I purchased my first one earlier this year. One feature I was missing was the bolt staying open after the last round. I recently learned that the Yugo magazines have a different follower that holds the bolt open after the last round. I ordered a couple Yugo 30 round mags and they work great. I have a few Hungarian 20 round Tanker magazines I wanted to modify to hold the bolt open so I started looking for a way to modify them. I found an old thread on another site that talked about replacing the magazine followers. That thread gave a source for the followers and I purcha

Can someone link me to or school me on how I can more easily get the BHO back in place after a conversion. Do you guys all modify it to be reinstalled? I've heard that some go right back in post conversion without modifications, others need to be re-profiled. Whats been your experience? Am I missing a simple fix or step? Any input pictures or links would be appreciated.

I'm looking for an S12 manual Bolt hold open lever and spring.

My trip to the range was cut short yesterday. After making it through 1 25rd box of Rem reduced recoil 00 buck I locked the bolt back and it got stuck. The bho did not dissapear inside the reciever the button just stayed half pushed up and the bolt would not release. When I got home I managed to get the Titan/dust cover removed. I then got the bho back down by pulling it with a pair of small rubber tipped pliers. Using some force I can manually move the bho lever up and down but clearly the spring is not engaged but there is a lot of friction. Is there normally a lot of friction here?
