Greetings. I haven't been in this forum in years now, but I find myself in need again. I goofed up and tried to speed load my mags, tried to catch the bolt hold open on the recoil of the last shot, thinking if I was fast enough I could catch it and quick reload. I think you might see where this is going. I was successful the first time. The second attempt, the recoil jammed the bolt hold open lever up inside, the bolt is now stuck back as far as it can go, and the failed bolt hold open is lodged to where I can't do anything. I'm about to be brave and start a full disassembly. I'

Ok, been living in the HK world for quite some time and I have partnered with a FFL and cerakoter, I do the hydrodipping. So I am tearing down my modified 12 for coat and dip. Going to weld up the holes from the pistol grip change and I wanted to add the BHO open modification as I like the idea. Plan to polish the bolt later as the 10 round mag doesn't feed the first round well at all. I started looking through the dealers here and I can't find anyone expect CSS that has one and I am not sure yet if it is workable on a model with the pistol mod. I'm fairly new to AK's. I purchased my first one earlier this year. One feature I was missing was the bolt staying open after the last round. I recently learned that the Yugo magazines have a different follower that holds the bolt open after the last round. I ordered a couple Yugo 30 round mags and they work great. I have a few Hungarian 20 round Tanker magazines I wanted to modify to hold the bolt open so I started looking for a way to modify them. I found an old thread on another site that talked about replacing the magazine followers. That thread gave a source for the followers and I purcha- 11 replies

I took my new Saiga 12 (from CenterfireSystems) out to the range for the first time last night and on the 2nd box of shells it locked up non-functional. The bolt hold open tab has either slipped inside the action or dropped off. I cannot see it and the bolt is permanently held open. In this position I cannot disassemble the action either. Centerfire Systems referred me to the importer, which is Russian American Armory. But they are closed today through Tuesday..... Anybody else run into this particular problem?
