Onepoint 0 Posted March 12, 2006 Report Share Posted March 12, 2006 I think you are good up to 68 grain, 62 is about ideal, and you can go down to 50gr probably even 45gr without any problems. In fact from those far more experienced than me in ballistics - http://www.ammo-oracle.com/body.htm#whattwist - "At typical .223 velocities, a 1:9 twist will stabilize bullet lengths equivalent to lead-core bullets of 40 to 73 grains in weight." rangerruck 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) onepoint , perfect page dude. thanks a bunch. i zerod this weapn with the winny 45 grn varmints, they are the most accurate factory load by far and away. but i only like those, if i am paper punching for 1 holer shots. i wanna be sure i can take the bigger 4 legged critters, so i wanted to be sure i could use 64 or 68 grainers.
