Harpoon 0
While I wait for a replacement scope, wanted to know if there is a peep sight that mounts on the rear of the receiver cover? I have a Mojo but that is located far forward where the blade sight normally is. Saw one for the receiver cover but they said it wasn't for Saigas. Thanks for any info you might have. ironhead7544 35
Tromix puts on H&K sights.
vulcan762 0
Be aware that anything mounted directly to the top cover will likely interfere with the standard soviet side rail. That means if you stick an HK rear sight on your top cover you wont may not be able to fit a POSP type scope anymore.
Harpoon 0
Interesting reply, Vulcan. My scope is less bulky (I think) than the Russian scopes. Was thinking a good welder could tack weld an iron sight onto the receiver cover. Don

Crosshair 1
I'm thinking of taking the 6x42 POSP off my 7.62x39 Saiga and put it on my 308 Saiga. How good are the Mojo sights on the AK? Am I better off keeping the scope?
Harpoon 0
The Mojos are certainly better than the blade rear that comes with the gun but not nearly as good as a sight mounted near your eye on the receiver with a proper aperature. Don
uzitiger 193
I made a rear sight with protective ears for my Saiga out of square tubing but had to trim the protective ears off because they interfered with my side rail scope. I used a laser to mark the aperture hole location by shining it from the front sight to the factory open rear sight. After shooting it I removed the factory open sight and I shoot a lot better with it. While we're discussing scopes does anyone make a side rail scope or mount that will sit on the rifle centerline? I am left handed and my scope is too far to the left and I have to cant the rifle to shoot wih the scope. This is due to the Russian army making everyone shoot only right handed.
