bamaboy 0
O.K. what's the trick ? I can't drive them out with a punch they only clear the right side of the receiver then stop, I tried to pry the other side with a screw driver, then even put the vise-grips to them and twisted back and forth, nothing did even budge @#^**%~
PM2790 0
You have to remove the shepard's crook from inside the receiver. This a thin wire gizzy that engages grooves in the pins.
bamaboy 0
I can barely see it, yet alone figure out how to get to it to remove it , does it come out towards the mag hole or towards the back? the bolt hold open is in the way
Siagalova 0
In the 7.62 it's the only other spring looking thing in the receiver! Second pin in from ther back. it's wound around the pin that crosses the receiver. Just start filing rivet heads and takin' stuff out - it all has to come out anyway (if you're doing a conversion)! here you go, third picture down shows the spring or crook or whatever it's called: http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/Step_2.htm
G O B 3,516
Just push the shepards crook away from the pin with a screwdriver while pushing on the pin. The hammer can be held'cocked ' with a tie-wrap. (Make sure to grab the spring on both sides but NOT the shepards crook). That takes the strain off. The other pin you need to lift up on the shepards crook-a stiff wire ,with the end bent over works well(large paperclip). Hope this helps. G O B
