Willie D 2
I'd like one of those Kobra Red Dot side mount scopes (holographic type) but at $200 they are about twice as much as I'd like to spend. So I guess I'll take the side mount weaver rail+cheapo red dot route. Any recommendations?
railroader 0
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=459296 I have 3 of these millett red dots. They are 3moa so the dot isn't too big. I was shooting my .223 saiga today with one. I also have one on an sks and a keltec .223. Brightness is very adjustable, the dot doesn't disappear in full sunlight. Mark Edited May 21, 2007 by railroader
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I've got a cheap copy of an Aimpoint that I like. It's an "AimSHOT". It's smaller and lighter weight than my Kobras or the BSA, Simmons, etc... This is the one I have... http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=477727 says it's been discontinued by the MFG, not sure what to think about that... Here is a newer one that is still around...looks like Sportsman's Guide bought them out or something, it's the same thing. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=277919 You might want to do some shopping around on the forums for a used Kobra. I picked both of mine up used in new condition for $100-150. they are really hard to beat IMO.
Willie D 2
Ebay seems to have a few sights that look similar in the sub $20 range.
railroader 0
Just be careful going too cheap. You want to stick with a smaller dot size and you want the dot to be crisp. I've seen a few dots that tend to flare when you turn them up to see them. If you get a 5moa dot that flares it will cover a paper plate at 100 yards. Mark

KySoldier 2
I like the Aimpoint clone Strike Dot. Everything made by Ultra Dot (Japan) has a lifetime waranty. I've got one on my AR, next will be a Glock. My friend has one on his Mossberg pump, another has his on an S-12...durable little suckers. Cheap when compared to a EO Tech, Aimpoint, or Trijicon.
