PsychoticReaction 0
First time here on the 223 side and I have a number of questions. Background: I do have an x39 conversion and I love it! Recently I was seduced by a Bushmaster Carbon 15 in Prairie Camo. Then I found an AR180B at a great price, and having owned an original, just couldn't pass it up. I took both of these to the range, and shot a few mags through each (Wolf Military Classic). I got cases stuck on each of them, ending shooting for the day. I think heat was responsible for both failures to extract (FTE). Any thoughts on this? My x39 has NEVER done this no matter how hot it got. Do the 223 Saigas sometimes do this? If so is it because of the straighter case walls of the 223 vs x39, or something else? What kind of mags can be used in the 223 Saiga? What needs to be modified? Does anyone have current links to those selling them Are they (223 Saiga) as reliable as the x39? Do the take aftermarket furniture just like the x39?
devildog1122 0
Do the 223 Saigas sometimes do this? No. AR cannot handle wolf ammo If so is it because of the straighter case walls of the 223 vs x39, or something else? No problem with saiga .223 What kind of mags can be used in the 223 Saiga? If you want high cap, there are surefire mags but they are very expensive. What needs to be modified? What do you want to do with the rifle? Does anyone have current links to those selling them? Google around, don't remember the exact web site. Are they (223 Saiga) as reliable as the x39? Yes, same rifle with different barrel, bolt and firing pin. Do the take aftermarket furniture just like the x39? Yes.
vjor 2
Like devildog1122 says, but you can use galils mags or anything else you can get your hands on, I just love those galil ones plus a ding man feed ramp or bullet guide and you good to go, any way good luck and be cool. And yes the Saigas in .223 do eat anything you feed them at all, one thing used to have a bush master ar15 in 5.56x45 and it eat wolf no problemo, still have used it with wolf because the person a sold it some times goes with me shooting and still feed to this day anything he can get his hand and no problems at all, but something we do, is never mix brass and steel case ammo or we clean the gun before we use brass on it. By the way is the same person that owns my las saiga in .223, cant built something with out him bother me for months until I sale the stuff to him, I really dont care because is one of my best friends.
