Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get wood to make a stock out of. I would like to make a stock for my saiga and have a template cut out and ready but cant find the wood I need anywhere. Someone told me to use 1 3/4" thick birch or walnut, anyone know of a website that might carry that stuff?

thanks

I may have to do that, its just that I'm about 2hrs from any large hardware store and none of the local ones have what I need. Your stock is holding up well i assume? What thickness wood did you use to get it tripled up?

thank you

Hey chris, try the stock makers , like soupbowl or Elk Ridge Gunstocks

if you want send e-mail to them or call and see if you can get your wood

or they can make you a stock that you want.

Look at this page to, it has info on stock finish and refinish that can help you.

My dad has a saw mill. I made my own stock out of walnut. We still have some blocks of walnut big enough for stocks. I can find out what other types of wood he has sawed if your interested. I posted pics of mine in the 308 section.
