SegFault 0
Well headed down to The Armory in VB looking to see if they had any, and well they did (1). So I bought it The other gun shop close to me was selling a used (unconverted one) for 500 (!!!!) I got mine for 399 OTD. It's the 19 inch version (threaded end), standard sights (ah well), came with all the regular goodies, and has no "Read oweners manual" on the left side like my Saiga 20, 223 and 7.62s have on them. Also has a much better finish on it (my Saiga 20 made in 2000 looks like very shiney paint...). According to the date on the rifle and the certificate that came with it, this shotgun was made in May 2007. So off to KVAR to order a new stock and all the stuff to convert it

Ordering the parts now, and once the 20 round drum I ordered from you the other day, I'll be all set. Edited August 25, 2007 by SegFault

Awesome I was hoping I did, it was the only one they had (The Armory) asked how much it was (399) asked if they'd take that price OTD, they did. So, now I have it But really if you add the 2.00 state police check it was 401..

So guess it'll take a little more work on this one ah well lol Plus, there is no mag release unit, there is a mag release but not like there is on regular Saigas, is this a normal thing on Saiga 12s? The older one the other gun shop was trying to rape me on with the price had it. Hrmm... Guess the parts I just bought will go towards the Saiga 20 conversion as it has this piece, and the pistol nut hole.

So guess it'll take a little more work on this one ah well lol Does it have the cutout for the new fire control group location up by the mag release? I'm not sure I understand the "no pistol nut hole" comment...on my x39, that's the hole (the square one) that the old trigger used to extend through. Jim

Jim On my Saiga 20 and .223 it had the square pistol nut hole along with the rectangle hole for the trigger. Whit the pistol grip installed the rectangle hole the trigger used to be situated at it covered by the pistol grip. Also, quite a bit of differences between my older Saiga 20 (made in 2000) and this new Saiga 12 (made in May 2007) The mag release is now unsupported by any external housing (like on any other AK) it is now supported internally where the cross member would normally be on an ak it is a block now, with the lip to flip the case out of the receiver. On my 20, the cross member is similar yet it is not a block, it's a bit of metal attached to the cross member. I should take a pic and attach. Give me a few.
SegFault 0
Here is a pic to better describe what I am talking about. Is it normal for Saiga 12s to have the mag release like that? This whole receiver seems completely different than the one I saw for sale @ the other gun shop (Saiga 12 made in 2004) Edit: Well that appears to be common on the S12s, wonder why the one @ the gun shop had a different mag release... It was pretty stock besides that I suppose. Edited August 25, 2007 by SegFault
