Conversion parts.

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get all the parts needed to do a pistol grip/folder conversion of my Saiga 12.

I like the Ace folder so I need,

The stock.

The receiver block(for flush fit).

The hinge for the folder.

Right?

I need a new trigger, like a Tapco G2?

I need a pistol grip.

Am I going to need a new trigger guard?

What other parts will I need? Cross pins? Rivets?

AK platforms are a little foreign to me.

I'd like to go the Tromix route, but the website shows no new orders till '09.

Oh well.

Your list sounds good. It's easy enough you can do it yourself.

You won't need a trigger guard unless you mangle up your old one getting it off (it will be reused).

What you've listed will get you converted, if you want it painted or whatnot...

Search this site, theres one "how to" page and dozens of posts like yours.

When you say "new trigger", it is assumed you'll use all the G2 parts in the bag (trigger, hammer and disconnector) for compliance reasons. You may have to fit the hammer, but there are posts here that can help (if you can't 'monkey see monkey do' from the original hammer).

Yes all parts.

I actually ordered the one from dsams.

Figured I'd order as many parts from the same place as I could.

You will also need a pistol grip nut -- most pistol grips come with the screw but not the nut.

Check nalioth's post in the tech section about using cotter pins to hold the hammer and trigger pins in place.

I tried to put together some "lessons learned" from my conversions on my website.

There's some info there on sources (I'm cheap, so I always look for the best value) and other things like a good paint match to your receiver.

Make sure you get read the Crossconn tutorial -- it's really a pretty easy thing to do!
