Just got my Saiga-12 and the factory 5rd mag will not lock into place. I am assuming I need to take a dremel to the rear plastic block where the lever will clear it. :cryss:

Is the the normal fix?

Sorry, I can't seem to find the procedure on the board - just references to filing and cutting.

Thanks in advance.

NOW WITH PICS

That's not normal at all. You shouldn't have to modify your 12 for your factory mag to fit into your factory shotgun. Maybe post some pics, or be more descriptive and someone will be better able to help.

When I insert the mag, the mag release lever is not clearing the plastic rear lug at the upper back portion of the mag. I tried another one, and it clicks just fine. I have seen references on here about having to file mags to make them fit and thought this might be normal to remove excess mold plastic.

Comparing the bad and good mag, they look identical except the bad one seems to have a little taller rear lug.

Sorry if this explanation seems nonsensical. I will try to post pics.

Can you be a little more specific?

Are you trying to install the mag loaded or empty?

On a closed bolt or with the bolt open?

Dd you buy the gun new or used?

22 Shooter is correct - that's not normal. Before you take a power tool to anything, I'd look for another solution.

Tried mag loaded and empty

Tried both open and closed

Gun is new

The other mag that works locks into place empty or loaded, closed or open bolt...
