TurboR1 0
So I purchased a Siaga 7.62x39 from the advice of my gun guru buddy. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted it "non sporting" lol I never even used the factory 10 round mag. I ordered the bullet guide and 5- 30rnd mags the same day I ordered my gun. I popped out a quick 120 rounds the day I recieved it all and decided I liked the feel of the pistol grip better so I ordered everything to make it 922r compliant. This is also my first assult type weapon. In total I've had my gun 3 weeks and here it is all converted: I still need to order a recoil buffer to help soften all that movement and I want to modify or replace the upper grip (It gets very hot covering the entire barrel). Navy87Guy 1
Nice work - welcome to the addiction we call "Saiga"! Why do you want a recoil buffer? Most AK's, especially Saigas, run fine without them. In fact, you can generally induce more problems than they "solve" because you reduce the momentum that was designed into the movement of the bolt carrier. Your choice - but just realize that Kalashnikov never intended for the gun to have one. Jim
JK-47 33
I was reading on the dark side that recoil buffers put unessicary stress on the rear trunion because the bolt carrier rarely contacts the rear trunion without one, but with one installed it impacts it everytime the boltcarrier cycles. TurboR1 0
nope neither the grip or stock needed modification. it mounted up beautifully. Mine was a flat guide and I had a rivet on the side of the reciever so the K-var guide wouldn't fit without mods to it. I forgot I actually ended up switching my round dinzag guide for a flat K-var that my buddy had.
ghostface1 0
I called Copes today and I asked the lady if the AR stock and PG would fit my x39 and the lady said it wouldnt? She said that it was for a AK, is it the same fit?
TurboR1 0
I assume you have a stamped Siaga 7.62x39? Yeah it should fit beautifully if you did/doing the conversion. If you aren't moving the trigger forward to the AK location it won't work.
