mini14jac 1
I have limited shop space, and I'd like to keep my cash expenditure to a minimum. We have a Northern Tool locally, and the 12 ton hydraulic press is on sale for $100. But... for $40 I can get the 1 ton arbor press, which will sit on my bench top. I know the press will be useful for other things, but I can's see myself building an AK, or doing another Saiga conversion, for that matter. I really don't have the room or the cash for the bigger unit, so my question is: Will the 1 ton press have enough muscle to drive out pins, and press off the sight and gas block? devildogdakota 804
I don't know if it would be enough muscle, however I have been known to buy the best of the best, use it one time, and return it. Just find out their return policy and save your receipt. Good luck, J.D.
vjor 2
Or buy the 12 ton press and resale it.
BobAsh 582
Make sure that the arbor press has enough height under the ram for your needs.
mini14jac 1
Just so happens that the 12 ton is on sale at Northern right now. May drive down there tonight and take a look.
