jhereg 0
I've got a rifle we built from a flat & parts kit. It has the proper amount of compliance parts in it & will hand cycle fine w/o a magazine. When I put a magazine in the rifle, the bolt binds in the feed lips of the magazine. It appears that the problem may be the ejector is too long. How do I know determine if the ejector is the correct length?
nalioth 405
Another reason might be your rails are sitting a little low.
jhereg 0
Another reason might be your rails are sitting a little low. I've thought about that also, but since it appears the bolt is dragging on the side away from the ejector, I've been trying to check it first. Any idea how I confirm dimensions on either of those two issues?
nalioth 405
Have you tried with different magazines? Not that it matters, but your rail(s) can sit low enough to cause bolt impingement but still appear "functional" (it only takes a few hundredths of a measurement). If you find some mags that work, paint 'em flourescent green and keep 'em with the rifle. . . .
uechiguy 0
I've got a rifle we built from a flat & parts kit. If your ejector is pushing the bolt over and jamming it on the mag feed lips your ejector is too long. Did you ever trim anything off from it? Most ejectors rails that come with flats are at the length for a AK 74 build and need to trimmed back for a 47. You can measure from the outside of the receiver to the edge of the ejector with calipers and it should be .560 for a 47 build. The 74 lenght is .573. Be careful if you do remove some metal not to take too much. If you do your gun will have ejections problems. I would surface harden the ejector with Kasenit also. good luck Edited April 20, 2008 by uechiguy
