9major 0
Installed my poly choke and went to the range today. Shot Winchester Universal #6 - 1 1/8 oz - 3 dr loads. The total number of pellets in the load is approximately 254. With the choke set at imp cylinder and the distance 15 and 20 yds the following results: 1. 15 yds 30 inch circle 254 pellets. 2. 15 yds 24 inch circle 254 pellets. 3. 15 yds 18 inch circle 244 pellets. As can be seen from the picture the 18 inch circle has the denser pattern at 15 yds. Same choke setting same load distance 20 yds the results are as follows: 1. 20 yds 30 inch circle 252 pellets. 2. 20 yds 22 inch circle 224 pellets. As can be seen from the picture the 22 inch circle has the denser pattern at 15 yds. The next load shot was Fiocchi Spreader #8 - 1 1/8 oz - 3 dr loads. The total number of pellets in the load is approximately 658. This time I set the choke to slug and the distance 15 and 20 yds with the following results: 1. 15 yds 30 inch circle 547 pellets. 2. 15 yds 24 inch circle 518 pellets. As can be seen from the picture the 24 inch circle has the denser pattern at 15 yds. Same choke setting same load distance 20 yds the results are as follows: 1. 20 yds 30 inch circle 429 pellets. 2. 20 yds 24 inch circle 382 pellets. As can be seen from the picture the 24 inch circle has the denser pattern at 15 yds. Based on the results for shooting steel I'll set the choke to imp cyl and use Winchester Universal #6 - 1 1/8 oz 3 dr loads, and for clay I'll set the choke to slug and use the Fiocchi Spreader #8 1 1/8 oz 3 dr loads.
