kanur 7
Hi folks, I just picked up my very first Saiga. It's a 410 that has had a very nice conversion already done to it. I have been wanting to get one of these for a while and decided I better do it befor the (Obama Bin Biden) administration takes over. My question is - The little nub on the safety is making a nice little arced scratch on the reciever. From pictures I have looked at on this site some guns have it and some do not. It's not a big deal but if there is a way to prevent it I would like to know. If it is just part of owning a Saiga so be it. This site is great and I'm sure I'll have more questions. Thanks in advance for any help
nalioth 405
The safety mark is part and parcel of a Kalashnikov. Kalashnikovs that don't have this have never been used.

Psee 0
Great question Kanur, I always wondered about that. On the same topic, I was checking my upward slide to safety and noticed the indicator on the end actually goes further up than the "S" marking and slips into a notch. The trigger is locked regardless of whether it is alligned to the S or further up in the notch so is either position acceptable or is one preferred?
