ibrewbeer 0
Just weighing some options now that I have my Saiga in hand. I am not entirely sure that I want to go with the AK furniture route, but want to be 922r compliant to use hi-cap mags. Is it possible to use the stock trigger along with a US made hammer and disconnector in the stock location? I am assuming it would work, but we all know what happens when one assumes! Just looking into which US parts I will be purchasing!
Bayoupiper 738
Usually, people use all three parts for 922 compliance. Someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to shed more light on this. But to keep the trigger in the "sporterized" position does mean you have to use the trigger that came with it since it is a folded and welded "extension".

I actually like the factory stock, so the trigger is most likely staying where it is. I'm just trying to add some parts for compliance. 2 parts is 2 parts!
Bayoupiper 738
Yes they are! So you will just have to make up one somewhere else. No biggie.

This is for a 308 Saiga, right? When you say, high capacity mags, you're looking a US made mags, right? Or are you considering using the tacked post to increase your stock mag from 8 to 10? If you don't want to go with AK furniture with the sporter stock, you could use US made mags (3 parts) and change out your gas piston (or have Dinzag do it for you). Another option would be gas piston, hammer, and disconnector, and US forearm. The forearm will require a new handguard retainer and gas tube. If your stock set is wood, you could also consider custom made US stocks, but I have found this to be a pain.

Just looking into which US parts I will be purchasing! You'd be O.K. when using Surefires, as they count as replacing 3 parts which (when added to the two you'd already have replaced) would bring you to 9 listed foreign parts = in compliance. Using current production FBMG mags (which only replace one listed foreign part) would bring you to 11 listed foreign parts = not in compliance. So, if you want to use FBMg magazines (and comply with 922r) you'd need to replace one more listed part. In that case, I'd suggest replacing the gas piston.
ibrewbeer 0
I have heard great things of dinzag, but everytime I try to access the website, a spam popup trying to install an anti-virus program closes it out, so I haven't been able to take a gander. Yes it is a .308 and I am looking at using the Surefire 20 rnd. mags. I may consider another handguard, but I do kind of like the original's aesthetics as well. Decisions, decisions! rd99fxdl 17
You can change out just the two trigger parts,I did that on mine to keep the original trigger locations, too lazy to go the full convert route. I use Surefire mags and just picked up an SGM forearm for mine with the three rails,I like the looks of it on the rifle.

If you're using Internet Explorer, you might want to consider installing a more secure browser. It would not only help with viewing Dinzag's site, but would leave you far less vulnerable to spyware and viruses. Some alternatives to IE: Opera - http://www.opera.com/ Firefox - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ Mozilla Suite (SeaMonkey - contains browser, email, and web page editor) - http://www.seamonkey-project.org/
