  1. What's the length of your Romanian stock (recevier to recoil pad)?
  2. Saiga-12's aren't illegal to import into Califronia as long as the magazine is fixed (i.e. requires a tool to remove the magazine). Not the best solution, but still a middle finger to CA DOJ. There are plenty of people buying them. See the links below. Also includes a Tromix (supposedly). Besides the obvious downside, we get raped on the price. But better to have one in hand now, than regret it later when the new administration turns its attention to another "Assault Weapons Ban". http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=132834 http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/show
  3. I would check dinzagarms.com. You won't find better customer service. He has great information on 922r compliance and conversion parts. This is for a 308 Saiga, right? When you say, high capacity mags, you're looking a US made mags, right? Or are you considering using the tacked post to increase your stock mag from 8 to 10? If you don't want to go with AK furniture with the sporter stock, you could use US made mags (3 parts) and change out your gas piston (or have Dinzag do it for you). Another option would be gas piston, hammer, and disconnector, and US forearm. The forearm wi
  4. Netpackrat, Which Set# is that in the picture? #1M? Did you finish it yourself? Thanks.
  5. I got mine at http://ak-47s.com/guard.html. Came cut from demill receiver: After removing the dross:
  6. >>>BTW SB23 is slated to expire next year, lets hope so we can join the rest of the nation. Girmper, I couldn't find any info about the SB23 regs ever sunsetting. What was your source for this? Given the current legislature, I don't give this much hope, even if there is a provision. They'll just rubber stamp an extension. But, what the hell, if it were to sunset, I'll be first in line.
  7. Seriously? When was it manufactured? So it is only chambered for the NATO round? 2000. The owner's manual says to use cartridges, cal. 7.62x51 (.308 WIN). I have only shot .308 Win through it. No problems. I personally think it isn't a problem to shoot either through it. My point was not all of Saiga 308's out there necessarily have both .308 Win and 7.62x51 stamped on the receiver.
  8. From last week: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=21818 I think GunnyR has it right, although my Kalashnikov-USA Saiga 308 only has 7,62x51 stamped on the receiver.
  9. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Great videos. Definitely a great complement to the cross-conn.com conversion info. Super job!

  11. I recommend http://dinzagarms.com/saiga_762x39/usgpk.html
  12. Are you talking about this? http://www.dinzagarms.com/brakes_hiders/brakes_hiders.html Links work for me.
  13. MD I'll give it a shot. I was going off of this information: http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8467 There was a discussion about http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/ One of the posters said: "In step (5), I'd just use a trigger guard and magazine catch assembly that was disassembled from a working rifle. It looks better and is not near the trouble that he went through."
  14. I'm the opposite. I want to get rid of my Saiga trigger guard and oversized mag latch and use the real deal. Sure, I'll need a riveting jig, but what the heck. I have also read that it saves some hassle when using AK mags. I also don't have to be so nice to the Saiga trigger guard when removing it. MD are you saying that I should just re-use my mag latch? Isn't it larger and wider than the standard latch? If I am going to use standard mags, won't I have to file it down? I was thinking it would just be easier to get the whole assembly and use standard parts. This is my first conv
