klm390 0
Molot Vepr-12 Does anyone have any info on these? Are the parts and mags inner changeable with Saiga? I'm looking into it further, but let me know what you do. http://www.saiga.gr/2A17AE60.en.aspx ps Check out the Safi Arms T-14. I'm not into the .410's but the gun is pretty cool and I would love one in 12 gauge Edited November 23, 2008 by klm390
kingjoey 5
It appears that the gun is made by Izmech, so everything should interchange. I've heard that some of the ex-Combloc countries produce their own versions of the Saiga but several of the parts don't interchange.
ctd 20
Hi The mags are not interchangeable and nor are most of the rest of the parts. Its a nice shotgun but if I had to free up cash id sell it and not my saiga
kingjoey 5
The mag shown won't interchange, but the mag adapter and the mag should interchange. There is a kit for converting the Saiga to a push-in box mag rather than the AK "rock and lock" setup. I don't think the kits are imported to the US though.
Vultite 57
interesting, on that website there is a link to a saiga "club" and they ask for your gun's receiver #......

I've heard that some of the ex-Combloc countries produce their own versions of the Saiga but several of the parts don't interchange. Vepr 12's are not made at Izhmash/Ishvesk. they're from Molot. But currently Izhmash owns most of Molot from a dispute some years ago. Molot couldn't pay up and was forced to sell out. Vepr 12's are based on the RPK, not the AK. they're considered a more upbeat S12. more popular with the european IPSC crowd than the Saiga 12 is. very high quality, much more so than the Saigas, but you obviously pay more. these puppies run 1095 euros. as for interchanging parts? no, most do not interchange, not for american guns anyway (not that it matters, Vepr 12s are too "evil" to import). there's talk that the Molot mags fit the Saiga 12 EXP-01 030's magwell, but that Saiga 12 mags for magwell do not fit Molots. i can't tell first hand though. cellsworth 21
It sure does suck that we can't get the VEPR-12 here.
