Rusty 0
I just grabbed a Saiga20 off of gunbroker (earlier today) and have been thinking, is it possible to swap barrels out and convert a 19" fixed mod choke to a 19" or 22" screw-in choke barrel? Or is there some other way to convert to a screw-in choke system? Or do I just need to take the gun out when I recieve it and shoot the damn thing before I start looking at modifications? IndyArms 10,186
Fortunately you can do BOTH.... While you are out shooting it... THINK about what you want to do to it... then you can figure out WHILE SHOOTING, if theres anything you dont like and want to change, or if something is VERY MUCH liked, and definitely a "keeper"... know what I mean? Rusty 0
Just out of curriosity, how much would a barrel threaded for screw-in chokes cost, and where would I find one?
IndyArms 10,186
I have NO CLUE on that, unless you have a gunsmith thread your barrel... The saiga chokes are about as easy to get as the high cap magazines... if not less so....
Rusty 0
Now, how to find a gunsmith that could bore the barrel out, then thread it for the Saiga chokes. I think I'll go pump ~100 rounds through it before I decide to do anything drastic, just see if the fixed mod choke is going to work for what I want to do.
jd1 2
Why not have it choked to accept RemChokes? jd1
Rusty 0
Hadn't thought about it.
