hunting style safety?

Recommended Posts

The silver colored unit above and to the rear of the trigger is the catch side of the folding stock's push button.

that's a folding stock?? Never seen a sporterized folder before, but that's the button I'm talking about. Not the BHO near the trigger guard.

Anyone try making a hunting style safety - you know, one that's clicked off with one finger while your hand isn't removed from the grip? It looks like that's whats on the Saiga 308 in this photo from their website.

The Saiga 100 series .308 and 30.06 have a crossbolt safety http://www.raacfirearms.com/Saiga_100.htm As well as the Super Vepr which are hard to find http://vcarms.com/vepr308super.html

I have saiga 100 ,30-06. I think safety is weak, its slides easy back and forth.when i hunt,i am checking it all the time, the safety button is right under the scope side mount .

I've been kicking this safety issue around for quite some time now.........I just keep getting sidetracked, but first a usable safety , then a last round bolt hold open....those are on the list, right after the AOW's get rolling....and the factory warranty work on the Saigas get caught up.......wonder if all the mexicans have run back south yet, maybe I need some cheap help...................VK......
