WardenWolf 6
Saigas typically will need a bullet guide installed for the standard magazines to properly feed. Some don't need it, though; it just depends on the individual gun and the magazine. Other than that, there's nothing really technical you'll have to do. Be warned, though, that you will also need to comply with 922® and have no more than 10 countable foreign parts installed in your gun. And New York State may have other laws restricting you from using a preban mag in your gun.
patriot 7,197
You mean these? 7.62x39 clips Or these? AK mags
nalioth 405
And New York State may have other laws restricting you from using a preban mag in your gun.Actually, in NYS, you can only use preban mags that hold over 10 rounds (But not in NYC, where any mag over 10 rounds is a felony to possess). All steel Communist produced milsurp/milspec AK-47/AKM (7.62x39) magazines are preban. This does not include the shiny new South Korean made 40 rounders that have recently entered the USA. South Korea is not communist and has never issued the AK to their troops. Edited March 9, 2009 by nalioth

nickxx4360 0
with the bullet guide, will the AK magazine fit snug or will it move around when inserted in the rifle?
nalioth 405
with the bullet guide, will the AK magazine fit snug or will it move around when inserted in the rifle? The bullet guide has bupkus to do with the mag fitment. Your question has as many answers as there are countries making AK mags (IOW, it depends on the mags you choose). nickxx4360 0
OK, generally speaking. Will the pre-ban magazines wiggle like crazy or is there a type of pre-ban that fits the best. I just want to know what you guys have experienced with different types of pre-ban magazines.

I just want to know what you guys have experienced with different types of pre-ban magazines. This is a Kalashnikov. They are loose by design. They are not designed to be tight like an AR15. Any commie milsurp mag will fit as it's supposed to, provided you didn't go crazy with the grinder during the conversion.
