white buffalo 0
Well, like the topic states, are these recievers milled or stamped. Had my eye on one for awhile (for home protection) but got an SAR-1 instead. Sold the SAR-1, now I'm looking at these again. Thanks.
Templar 0
All SAIGA receivers are stamped. If you want a milled receiver, www.arsenalinc.com makes the nicest over the counter AK's available, but no shotguns. I wouldn't worry about milled vs. stamped on these things, they should last damn near forever anyway.
Vern 0
Stamped isn't so bad, Mossberg 500's are stamped and so are Remington 870's.
Templar 0
What?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mossberg receivers are forged aircraft grade aluminum. Remington receivers are forged steel. No one makes a stamped receiver shotgun except SAIGA, and that's because they are using AKM technology. Not bad, just different.
Bvamp 604
uh, yeh, i have both a moss 500 and a remington 870 and neither are stamped...my only stamped guns are AKM types actually so far...
Vern 0
Sorry, difference in terminology, not in application. A piece of metal goes into a press and is struck by a die. Yes in the case of the Moss. and Rem. there is more shaping that goes on, but they are still not milled guns. Ithica uses a milled receiver, I am not sure about Browning but I would guess that they do. My point is that there is nothing wrong with a stamped receiver.
