bigdaddy67 0
Hi all, I have seen some posts on another forum saying that the floating dust cover on the S12 should be removed as it can detatch itself and cause jams. Any truth to this? what do you guys think? --Dave Edited August 17, 2009 by bigdaddy67
bigcec1 72
Well I'm not shure how it will detatch itself unless your trunion has been beaten to hell and the rivits broken making it not want to stay in place also the button that holds it on also has a pushbutton onto of that preventing it from just poping off if your does pop off you may have some outher issues you need to worry about but so far I have over 2500 shells threw mine no dust cover issues
gkcf 8
I think he's talking about the one that's attached to the spring.
Gothmog 24
The worst thing I have ever heard, was that it popped it welds, and flew off. No jam, but owner had to have it reatached. I guess if it fell into the action it prolly will jam, but its an AK, just shake it out and continue firing. HUZZAH!
bigdaddy67 0
Yes, the dustcover I am referring to is the one on the spring. Regular AK's don't have one. --Dave
bigdaddy67 0
The post I saw (AR 15.com AK section) recommended said to remove it entirely. I don't think so! Maybe he is just trollin. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&...80&t=118889 post #2 --Dave Edited August 17, 2009 by bigdaddy67
bigcec1 72
Ohh I get what you are saying that cover well I have heard of the spot welds breaking but not very common just tack it back on there and rock and roll or remove it but it leaves a big hole for dirt to get in there
