TheHomelandSoldier 0
New addition coming soon: I talked with Krebs to let them know how happy I am with the KTR, and requested a custom build of one with Green furniture (VLTOR stock, SAW grip, and handguard panels). The said they would do it, so order it I shall on Monday. The thing is just awesome. -THS

dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Yeah, their 103's are nice too... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cant decide if i should buy saiga now, or just roll costs all up into a krebs/ak103 AK103K?
TheHomelandSoldier 0
Hey Dodge, to be honest with you the reason I ended up dumping almost all of the Saiga stuff I had is because they are not worth the hassle to me. If I had more time to customize / convert / file / fit / almost all of the accessories not including the magazine issue... uggghh... the Saiga line just doesn't seem worth it. The rifle alone is cheaper, but after all the time and $$ one needs to invest to get their Saiga up to speed, one could have just dumped some cash on an AK that's already there. (Excluding the .308 series and 12 gauge series) After one spends so much money on Saiga exclusive stuff, trying to make their Saiga converted "as good" as any other AK out there, it becomes cost prohibitive. Gotta use their mags, gotta use their parts, gotta blah blah blah... I keep focused on just the "regular" AK's, ones that don't need converting to pistol grip or ones that have already been, and ones that take standard mags, or ones that have already been converted to do so... Edited to add, if you are contemplating getting a Krebs 103, a few hundred more will get you into a KTR. I have yet to find (1) KTR for sale used. Now whether or not it's because there's not a lot of them out there, or noone wants to sell theirs, who knows, but either way, I don't see any. Within a couple weeks I plan on having one in all black "SWAT" type, accessorized, and the special order one with Green furniture, I'll add a paint job, for that "Camo" type look. -THS Edited March 7, 2005 by TheHomelandSoldier
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
just read above.....yeah the saiga line is hard to play with.....but if a person is looking at spendy money slowly over time.....then it wouldn't suck too badly... S-12 is good to go if you can get enough goodies. Not many AK shotguns out there..lol I'm going Saiga AK 7.62x39 because it's russian, and i can say i converted it....probably cooler if I said Krebs, chris butler created it though
762minigun 1
Yeah, their 103's are nice too... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cant decide if i should buy saiga now, or just roll costs all up into a krebs/ak103 AK103K? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All of this is true............ How many russian Izhmash AK's do you see out there?
shotgunman 0
I converted my saiga-12 and a saiga 7.62x39 into a ak-103 and it was way cheaper doing it myself! hell a blind man could do the conversion it is so simple!plus I can say I did it
dodgeturbointerceptor 1
Well thats what I figured..but I wasn't sure about the barrel work...the AK brake and the like.... I still dont know if they use our barrel(saiga) or put a bulgarian front end on it....? or is it just a bulgarian front sight, and brake? still..don't know if I could do all that in-home. Vincent Black 0
I have already decided that I will be getting me a KTR-03s or nothing. Ever since I found out about it, no other AK will do.
Saiga_Scrod 0
Yeah, their 103's are nice too... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cant decide if i should buy saiga now, or just roll costs all up into a krebs/ak103 AK103K? I actually have a Saiga 12 conversion and a AK 103 speed load conversion from Krebs. The quality is there and I would buy either again. One thing to keep in mind is the magazines. The 103 will run on you regular AK47 mags. The only think I would think about changing on the 103 is the rear sight. The Saiga 12 magazines are more difficult to find and more expensive. In addition the 12 mags are plastic. I have one in my hands that has metal lips. But given the way generally fit I'm a little concerned about how much abuse they will take. Specifically the plastic tabs that lock the magazine in place. Time will tell.
