saigafreake 27
are you refering to the saiga rear sight or a regular ak sight.
Azrial 1,091
Or are you referring to filling in the numbers with paint?
whitetrashrn 74
On a regular AKM rifle, the mat silver leaf sight with the black slide. The white is no problem but my sight leaf's are all black tinted. I have one or two that are like new, but I dont want to screw up any with sand blasting or some kind of acid dip if it going to mess it up.

whitetrashrn 74
No painting the numbers is easy. I am talking about every thing around the numbers. I guess I will sandblast them.

whitetrashrn 74
Thanks for the help. Three of my kits came with the leaf not painted. They were natrual steel with white letters. The natural steel has tarnished and spotted. I would like to get that natural steel look. I was thinking Muratic acid and wire brush. HillBilly2 9
I'd sandblast with very fine aluminum oxide and park with zinc phosphate. It leaves a grey color that I think your looking for. It's easy to do, you can order a little from Midway and do it on the kitchen stovetop.
