USMC_LB 4
I saw this picture and was wondering if you could post more pictures of this mod so I can make sure not to take off too much meta... its almost impossible to replace it once it is gone Thanks in advance LB PS I am having NO LUCK finding M3 x 50 screws here in the Memphis area... All the ACE hardwares in this area do not carry M3 x 50... my luck
Tiny 2
Can we also get pics of the bolt out of the shotgun? That would also be a great help.
stimpsonjcat 0
I'll see what I can do guys. I'm trying to get some more stimpcatches ready for shipping, but those guys can wait (ducks) I'll try to take some pics from more angles. I did this with a standard 1" wide metal file and some 400/600 grit wet/dry.
stimpsonjcat 0
OK guys...new pics: Here is the side view of the bolt and I have shown what was removed with the red line. This pic shows the flat bottom of the bolt where you can see the new filed area. And finally a shot with a caliper on for dimensional purposes I hope this clears this simple mod up. USMC_LB 4
I have filed and I have sanded and honed the bolt smooth but I cant seem to get past the shell deforming... hummph ! LB
ForGreatJustice 1
You're always going to have some, USMC. There just isn't enough space. I think the main advantage of the mod is that is makes the reload just slightly easier/more reliable.

ForGreatJustice 1
BTW, if you polish and smooth out the transition between the bolt and the bold HEAD, it should smooth up the reload a little. That dimple transition between the bolt stem and body is really only in contact with the shell during the first part of the reload. But if you burnish the whole thing and also smooth the transtion from bolt body to bolt head, it might smooth the reload even more. true LB <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
stimpsonjcat 0
My ISP changed from alltel.net to windstream.net, for anyone who finds these threads and cannot get pics to load, check the source code and change the URL to windstream.net to fix the images.
