crow slayer 0
hey is that where you ordered yours from? I looked at the phone number you have to call to order and it is some big long number. also what was the price on them in USD? thanks
ravent25 0
Use pay-pal and you can order them from the web site, Pay-pal will convert the money for you. I bought 2 mags shipped in 6-8 working days for $88 usd. Not bad for real saiga hi cap mags. The 10 round at gun shows and most web sites sell them for $20-$30 each. Black92LX 0
i thought pay pal couldn't be used for firearm related transactions it says it's a 10 round magazine in a 30 round body $40usd a mag for a 10 rounder that looks like a 30. i'll pass. Edited January 14, 2004 by Black92LX
ravent25 0
NO,NO. IT's made to hold 10 rounds until you take the retaining bar out of the bottom of the mag and then it will hold 30 rounds , I will take pics tonight and show everyone how looks before and after. the reason they do that is so they can ship it overseas. it's Like a person posting a ak-47 30 round mag on e-bay and saying it can only hold 10. ravent25 0
Your going to love these, they work great!!! have fun.
Black92LX 0
how much was your total?? what did they charge you for shipping.
NedPepper 0
"The total is 44 pounds for the goods + 7 pounds for shipping = 51 pounds. Estimated delivery time 5-6 working days. Thank you" Thats about 40 a piece and 12 to ship to USA
crow slayer 0
i just ordered one. shipping was like 9 bucks. i probably should of ordered 2 but oh well
Black92LX 0
I would be careful about this!! I believe what you all are doing is illegal. not only the importing of the magazines, but modyfying them as well.
ravent25 0
these are checked at customs and this isn't any differnt than modding a ak47 mag which alot of owners do. as long as you have the required USA parts I see no big deal. Hell I may be wrong. It's up to the person not me to deside if they want to buy the hi cap mags.
Black92LX 0
so these magazines were made prior to 1994???
NedPepper 0
Which brings up another question I've been wondering about.. if you can only make some modification after adding a certain number of US parts.. just one glance and you can tell if you have required US parts or are we field stripping to check? Devils advocate> I can't legally hunt with a semi-automatic and I'm not planning a crime spree or any civil unrest...just got a few watermellons with my name on 'em. SammoH 0
I'd say that if the mags were produced prior to 1994, they shouldn't be a problem. I thought that Saigas were a post-ban weapon? If so, wouldn't mags for them be post ban as well? If that is true, there are some legality issues there then.
hemophilic 0
Get them now and use them when the laws break down. You'll be glad to have'em. I'm ordering serveral.
Sheik Yerbouti 0
Get them now and use them when the laws break down. You'll be glad to have'em. I'm ordering serveral. I'm missing something here. I got 10 pre-ban steel Polack mags for $68, delivered. Why would I want to pay $40 for a plastic magazine?
SammoH 0
Ah, now the question is, where did you get them Shiek so that the rest of us may do so too?
Black92LX 0
any modification needed there shiek???
Sheik Yerbouti 0
I got them about 4 months ago from AIM Surplus. I did have to modify the mag catch for them to seat correctly (about 1/32 off the top of the catch) and I had to install a bullet guide (made my own) for them to feed correctly. This was all part of my pistol grip conversion.
ravent25 0
I know that the mags are high dollar but the point being you don't have to mod any part of the rifle. Im not going out to take out a group of bad guys so I only need two or three mags at the most. Most important is that these are real saiga mags made for the rifle.
hemophilic 0
exactly, I dont want to weld or file my rifle or parts and I want to be able to switch from legal 10 round and 30-looking for the local range to full-on 30 for when I have to get nasty. Besides, its easier to remove a wire and you dont have to be precise. Pop the bottom off, remove the wire, reassemble. 5 seconds. I ilke plastic too
SammoH 0
The issue at stake here is legality though. Remember that despite the fact the mags are original Saiga mags, I doubt they were manufactured before 1994. As such, they're restricted by the AWB and basically, illegal. If they were manufactured prior to 1994, there'd be something to consider. I'd like to puchase actual Saiga 30 rd mags myself but till I know about their legality, I'll save my dollars. Sheik Yerbouti 0
hemophilic, the 10 rounder that came with the rifle still works flawlessly. ...I doubt they were manufactured before 1994. As such, they're restricted by the AWB and basically, illegal. If they were manufactured prior to 1994, there'd be something to consider. SammoH, I would not bet my life that my "like new" Polack surplus mags were manufactured before 1994. Let's face it, the law is a joke and there is no way that you can prove when the high cap mags were manufactured. Acquaintances of mine that are currently in the Balkans tell me that the SKS factory and the magazine factories are working three shifts, yet none of the indigenous troops or police are being refitted with new equipment, and sealed containers head out to the seaports every day. Ditto for the British AR mags coming into the country. If there is no date stamp, it must be preban! Edited January 20, 2004 by Sheik Yerbouti
hemophilic 0
the mags are legal since the manufacturer has limited them to 10 rounds. Its illegal to modify the magazine to hold more even though it can.
ravent25 0
The one most important thing here is that if needed you can always put the retainer bar back in in less than 1-2 mins, unlike trying to hide a welded up mag.
ASSASSIN 1
Hi there the company that is selling you the mags is based in england , so am i . there is another company that is the official importer for izmash products and my guess is that they will be cheaper, they have a branch in the U.S so they will be aware of the relevant laws in the U.S assassin
Black92LX 0
who is it that is based in the US?
ravent25 0
yes, i would like to know of a place that sells them in the us for less! I don't see how. every time i see a web site or go to a gun show everyone is selling the saiga 10 round mags for 20 plus dollars.
ASSASSIN 1
trapper industries sell saiga 7.62x39 mags this place is only based in U.K so maybe he will export to U.S.A http://www.trapperindustries.com/gunparts/page2.html check the bottom of the page hope this helps you guys out. assassin
ravent25 0
Yes, But they don't keep them in stock as much as the other seller. the price is the same and I got my two mags in 6 working days. I was in contact with them and they told me they were back ordered, I found the new web site the next day and had my new mags in 6 days. they come in a 10 round formate and it is up the owner, law or no law to mod them. If you can find them for less than 45 dollars each let us know, the price on the web site is the same price i paid for mine.
