T1gger 3
I haven't seen anyone do this, not sure if they think it's ugly or personal preference, but I wanted to see how it'd come out. I kind of like it, makes it look a bit more uniform. Sorry for the poor quality. Edited February 9, 2010 by T1gger
Paulry 50
Ok, how the heck did you do that? I did just the cheek area on mine with a dark brown shoe lace and it works great (looks OK)
elvis christ 451
Looks good. I don't know if I would have done it on the checkered shoulder bit...
jimdigriz 580
Have you guys seen these additions to the folder stocks? Kinda neat. (Terrible paint job on that AK, but the stock mod is cool).
elvis christ 451
Never seen that stock extension deal, but it looks pretty slick. I wonder if someone mocked that up, or is it an actual surplus part?

elvis christ 451
Interesting. Another idea I'm pissed off I didn't come up with. First the S12 rock and lock tab, now this.
T1gger 3
That add-on looks pretty sweet as far as providing a nicer cheek-weld. As far as how I did it, there was a tutorial online showing how to do the straight part and I just translated it to the other areas. That particular link doesn't seem to be working anymore though. tsc91 9
Good job, nice and uniform looking. How many pieces of cord did you use? I did the same thing on the top tube of my Ace folding stock.
elvis christ 451
Was it this one?
tsc91 9
Was it this one? That's how I did mine. It's like a hangmans knot. Soak the cord in hot water for a minute and wrap it while it's wet. The knot will tighten after it dries. Edited February 10, 2010 by tsc91
T1gger 3
No, it was from a post from another site, calguns I believe. I initially tried that way, but it didn't work so well for me. I felt the other way was easier. I used 3 different pieces of cord to do the entire stock.

T1gger 3
If you happen to use hot water, make sure you oil the stock so that it doesn't rust.
