volkov 318
Friend of mine has a wierd smith and wesson.. He's thinking about using it for CC.. It's a .38 caliber J-frame.. Only one problem, it's serial numbered as a 460.. Which is a larger pistol that doesn't even come in .38. So he sent in the serial number to smith and wesson.. and they sent back the made on date, all the crap.. and that it's a 460.. His concern is he's worried about it being a potential missprint and doesn't want to carry and scuff it up if it's a collectors item. editted for pic.. clearly not a 460 Edited February 11, 2010 by volkov
Etek 32
It was a Special Order or something in that genre. Pretty rare but not collector grade IMHO.

volkov 318
well my friend has about 200 S&Ws that his family has been collecting since the 1800s (huge trunks just full of guns, 200 was a conservative estimate, likely more.. cleaning them is a long long project..), so I reckon he'd want to hold onto this one if it's special.. he might send it in to S&W and see what they think Edited February 15, 2010 by volkov
