Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
I got a POSP 4x24 AK version and went to mount it on my Saiga today....slips right on and off, wobbly as hell. What am I doing wrong?
Bayoupiper 738
In the manual that came with it are instructions to tighten up the screw on the clamp. You pop off the retainer clip, and tighten the screwhead underneath. I did mine while on the weapon to make sure I didn't make it so tight that I couldn't clamp it down. Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
Awesome, thanks a lot. I will try that.
Bayoupiper 738
The little arm that has the small tab on it has to come off too if I remember correctly.
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
Ok, I'm removing the little clip and tightening the screw.....but it still is wobbly and slides right on and off the rail...........
blkgunlvr 31
I posted in the other thread, I snugged mine up on the rail and then put the lever on about 3/4 "off" and it locks up nice and tight and is just a bit "snug" on removal. http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/manual/KOAKClampAdjustment.pdf
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
OK, a couple deep breaths and two beers later, got it on nice and tight. Thanks a TON for the help guys. I swear my brain works BETTER on alcohol....
blkgunlvr 31
You were just being too gentle with it Klassy. I thought something was missing on mine because I thought there should be a cam or something. It took a few seconds to realize that it was distorting the whole lower section of the sight mount to "clamp" it onto the rail. This is tractor factory stuff, take a shot of Vodka and tighten that thing up! Edited March 7, 2010 by blkgunlvr
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
LOL pretty much. Now it's not turning on when I stick two 357 batteries in. I tried them every which way and still nothing. Maybe it's bad? I'm gonna call them Monday.
blkgunlvr 31
Take a look at the two exposed wire lugs and maybe unscrew and retighten the LED module (little knurled cap on the center of the underside of the scope). I went to buy batteries this evening and there was only ONE 357 on the damn battery rack! Have to try another store tomorrow for a second battery.
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
blkgunlvr....you have fixed my scope again! I screwed and unscrewed the LED module and it worked great. I owe you and dancing bear a beer! Thanks a shit ton guys.
